  1. Looks too similar to the 2nd Gen Rx.. They didn't do much work on that blindspot issue on the sides. <_< Front came from a mix of an ES and IS, interior resembles the slope in the Acuras, and the iDrive obviously came from BMW lol..

Plus they're keeping it as an RX350? I would have thought that they would upgrade the displacement of the engines, but it's still about a year away before this bad boy's released so we'll see what Lexus will really decide to do with the 3rd Gen RX.

My understanding the new model is coming out Feb 2009.

  2. My brother-in- law and I both have rust spots in the exact same location you describe. Some of rust is from paint chipping and some from underneath the paint. The paint job on these vehicles are very poor. The paint chips very easy.

  3. Well I just got rid of a Volvo S80 that was a pile of junk and am thinking that my new Lexus isn't much better. I've had it for 5 months and there is rust starting under the grill on the front of the engine hood. Dealer is currently painting it but it doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy on what to expect down the road. Also have the noise on the dash that I now know what to tell the dealer. They said there was nothing wrong

My brother in law also has rust in the same spot. I have also gotten numerous paint chips in the same area. The paint in the front seems to chip easily. My wife does very little freeway driving and has many more chips than my car which is always on the freeway. My chips have not started to rust. My brother in laws car seems to have rust coming up from underneath the paint in the same exact area. I am going to see what the dealer thinks about it.

  4. Good news RX 330 owners. Lexus has a fix to address your Rear Power Hatch Inop Blues.

Theres a new part that will take care of this. Its called the Power Rear Door ECU P/N 89222-0E011 (Previous part was 89222-0E010).

Call before you take your vehicle in and tell the service writer to order you the ECU.

If they dont know what you are talking about, have the technician contact the LEXUS TAS Hotline.

Hope this helps! Sorry for the inconvenience!

Thanks very much - zero4 - for the information. I find it interesting how other people are quick to blame all lexus problems on user error. It seems people think Lexus vehicles can not possibly have any problems. I have had more problems in the first 4 months of ownership than any of my last 3 new american cars - and they were all Chryslers !
