My understanding the new model is coming out Feb 2009.

My brother-in- law and I both have rust spots in the exact same location you describe. Some of rust is from paint chipping and some from underneath the paint. The paint job on these vehicles are very poor. The paint chips very easy.

My brother in law also has rust in the same spot. I have also gotten numerous paint chips in the same area. The paint in the front seems to chip easily. My wife does very little freeway driving and has many more chips than my car which is always on the freeway. My chips have not started to rust. My brother in laws car seems to have rust coming up from underneath the paint in the same exact area. I am going to see what the dealer thinks about it.

Thanks very much - zero4 - for the information. I find it interesting how other people are quick to blame all lexus problems on user error. It seems people think Lexus vehicles can not possibly have any problems. I have had more problems in the first 4 months of ownership than any of my last 3 new american cars - and they were all Chryslers !
