  1. Hey, thanks guys for the info. I do use hi-test fuel, and come to think of it it happens after I just fill up. I haven't contacted the dealer yet but it does sound like a fuel problem. FYI: we do use CO2 sensors in the HVAC industry. Thanks again, SOCALGS
  2. I think with the reputation and quality of Lexus, there should not be any noticeable flaws or blemishes in any Lexus products under 5 years old. I also would not want to drill any holes in a factory seald unit. Remember these headlights have a self leveling function, so any moisture and/ or contaminants would be an unwelcome addition. I sure would try (certified or not) pushing the local dealer to have the factory stand behind their product. See how that works, enjoy your new car.
  3. I read in my owners manual that the wipers has two possitions. It sounds like yours is stuck in the SNOW possition. to change possitions you have to manualy pull or push them up or down( in the direction of operation). The first time I did'nt want to break them but you will get used to it. Check your book or dealer if possible.
  4. Definitely sweet, Are you asking where to get one? otherwise I am. Who, What, where, and how much? Let me know, Thanks
  5. I have had my GS 400 stall on me twice in the last month. It has happened when I have been in slow (stop and go) traffic up hill. It's almost like bogging the clutch ( on a manual trans.). Is this a trait of the electronic transmission? My idle does seem low (550) at times. Again this is a certified preowned, I'll be calling the dealer on Monday. Any input would help.
  6. Hey gs4, I am a new member to the Lexus club so alot of these topics are new to me. I too have just switched from a SC 400 to a 99 GS400. I never had this problem with my SC, But when my GS was on the dealers lot as a certified vehicle I noticed a slight film in the head light lenses. After the first rain storm I noticed condensation in the headlights. By the time (3 days) I got back to the dealer the condensation was evaporated. I had them note the complaint in their records. The next time the condensation appeared I drove straight to the dealer to show the service manager in person. He made me a service appointment and noted my complaint along with warped rotors. to make a long story short I bought a "certified Vechile" and I expect these items to be covered. so after some haggeling they replaced all 4 head lights and both front rotors on a one time courtsey warranty. I did send the general manager a nice letter and thanked them for standing behind their warranty( a little !Removed! kissing never hurts ) I'm sure they will make their money back some day but for now I'm ahead of the game. Buy only New or certified and you should be taken care of.
  7. Gentlemen , I reciently switched from a 92 SC 400 to a 99 GS 400. I enjoy the upgraded luxury and technoligy. I have been unable to find the factory specs in any of the owners manual. I found specs on the GS430 and they even seem a little light. I would appreciate any info or links if possible. I was lucky and had the dealer replace the front rotors ( warped @ 53K mi) and all front head lamps ( water and condensation ) all replaced under factory warranty. I am a firm believer in factory engineering and warrantys. any recomended modifications that won't interfere with relaiability or warranty?
