  1. Zlatko, my es300 94 also was leaking power steering fluid, it was from part number 62010 which they called the hydraulic fan motor assembly, and they wanted $463.00 for it. Is this the same part where your power steeering fluid is leaking? If so, I have 2 good pulls from the junk yard ( i wanted to make sure if this happens again, I have 2 spares already LOL ). I will sell you one ok for $ 60.00 and you pay for shipping. Pic of the part is attached. This part is right behind the center of your radiator fan and 2 hoses attach to it. Hope this helps.
  2. I think I might have to get a valve stem seal job soon, one mechanic quoted me like 1400.00 us $. Im like thats the price of the engine!! LOL. ANyway, is it worth it for my 94 es300 with 230000 miles already to get the stem seals fixed or should I just run the car like that? IS there a immediate danger to my engine? Car runs good.
  3. I would advise you go to the junkyard and get the parts there. It will be a lot cheaper. There are a lot of es300's and camrys with the same exhaust parts there. I meant for the Y pipe, the CAT you should buy a new one. Try autopartswarehouse.com

  5. It looks burgundy with gold trim to me. Nice!!!!! Looks like champagne color.
  6. I would check for the oil level sensor. Its probably out of whack. Check your oil too if it looks normal.
  7. new struts and re-use old springs Thank you so much homemechanic. I think Im going to go ahead and get the KYB instead of autozone's gabriel struts. Excellent forum.
  8. Are the KYB gas struts GR2 better than Autozone's Gabriel Gas struts? Are my front struts serviceable or I have to buy the struts and reuse the old springs and mounts? Just wanna know. Thanks. If someone needs original bulbs for the backlighting instrument cluster, please let me know. I got them from a 91 ls400 but I believe its the same size as the es300 bulbs.
  9. Okay, I will check for air in the coolant system. Thank you so much. I was worried but now not too much, because if it was the head gasket I would have overheating right? You guys are life savers, this forum is the greatest!!!!!
  10. Hi fellow lexus lovers!! Hows everybody doing this weekend? Anyways, my lex has started to emit smoke from rear side of engine only on first time start in the morning, after like 3 minutes, the smoke is gone and the car runs good. Yes, I have been searching and reading a lot of posts on the forum and I came up to maybe my valve stem seals are bad already. I have 223000 miles on my 94 es300 by the way. Here is where I am confused. 3 days ago, I drained the coolant from the radiator lower hose so I can replace the hydraulic fan motor with a new one because it was cracked. So after I installed the new hydraulic fan motor I reinstalled the lower radiator hose and refilled the car with coolant and started the car and checked the hoses for leaks. I did not detect anything, but yesterday morning, I popped the hood to re check the hydraulic fan motor's operation, I noticed my reservoir tank for the coolant was empty. I thought maybe because I drained the radiator it sucked more coolant when the thermostat opened up, so I refilled the reservoir to the right level on the mark. Today, I drove maybe 20 miles and the coolant level at the reservoir is low again, but no overheating and no visible leaks. Could it be I have a blown head gasket even though theres no white smoke or overheating? Does a blown head gasket always come with oerheating because my car is not overheating at all. Its not even at the halfway mark on the temperature gauge. Please help me diagnose why my coolant is disappearing. Tomorrow I will refill the reservoir again when the engine is cold and see if it disappears again after driving the car. If anyone has an idea , I would greatly appreciate. Thanks. By the way, my oil looks good too, no gooey stuff, just clean oil. I am hoping that because I drained the radiator, it just needs more coolant. But I am confused. Any help will be received.
  11. Welcome to the club islandgirl :) Sorry to hear about your accident. Just to clairify, do you own an IS or ES model & what year? I ask because I have not heard of an IS250 in north america for the 2002 model year (as mentioned in your profile). Do you need the bumper covers or the bumper itself? Junkyard is the best place to go as long as you know how to remove the bumper skins.
  12. Need help!! PLS!!! Has anyone removed the grey body moulding on the lower side of the car body? Mine are fading due to age and I want to get them painted. Appreciate any inputs!!! THANKS!
  13. OKay folks, all I can say is the more sophisticated the technology in the car, the higher the chances of these failing is very common. For instance,as a simple example, a car without abs and a car with abs, the car without abs has simpler brake parts thus it seems more reliable, but with the car with the abs, you have all this additional parts like abs sensor, abs pump, abs power booster etc. All I can say, as a owner of both Mercedes and Lexus, I will pick Lexus anytime. Just my personal taste, not to bash MBZ. Newer lexus are more sophisticated than older models thus more things can go wrong. Just my opinion.
  14. Is the 'servicing' dealer Northwest Lexus in Brampton? I don't want to disclose the servicing dealer as they are attempting to correct the situation (at least I hope that everything gets corrected - and without further damage). As for the NAV system, I am leaning towards the GPS antenna not working, turned on, or connected to the unit based on the response to my posting on the Navigation thread. I have also noticed that the calendar on the NAV is not working. I cannot change or select the days, months, etc.. Perhaps there is a setting to turn on that I have not become familiar with as yet. I will be happy to post the status of the repairs when the car is returned, it goes into the dealer next Wednesday.

  18. Is there a diy fix for this code p0510?
  19. oops sorry youre right the code is p0510, closed throttle position switch malfunction. SO what can I do to fix it? Thanks for any input.
  20. SO i hooked up my obd2 scanner tool to the obd2 connector below the instrument panel and it read code p0150 - closed throttle position switch. My question is how do i resolve this? ANyone?
  21. Oh, my mistake. I assumed it wasnt obd2 compliant because it had no obd2 style connectors, it had different diagnostic connectors. I have a obd2 code reader and I do not see any connectors to plug it into the 94 es300. My 2000 ML430 Benz has this connector under the dashboard driver side. Is there a connector on the es300 that I do not see? Read somewhere obd2 connector is under instrument panel so first thing in the morning I will look for it and hopefully plug in my obd2 reader. Thanks for all your help. pop off your fuse box cover under your dash...i think its either in there or very close to there Thanks a lot zock, this forum is the best its really good that us lexus owners are helping each other out. Also, this forum has more info on our cars than the benz forum I joined. SKperformance really posted a lot of info on that faq, also that parts list with the dealer prices already and parts number. That is so cool!!!

  24. Ok, I googled and this code means oxygen sensor. It was a different code for the sub 02 sensor. So does this mean the 02 sensor after the manifold? Sorry, actually it said main 02 sensor so I figure this is the one closest to the radiator ? try this... http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/lexus/ Thanks for your input Zock, unfortunately that page only shows the obd2 codes which are for model years 96 and up only. Its good to know though...
  25. I use premium all the time and I do not believe those engineers saying premium does not help because the car runs better on premium, smoother acceleration, more oomph, when i put regular, the car runs just like that, regular. So how can they say premium is unnecessary? Just a personal opinion and experience.
