<_< Hi to all...anyways i replaced my fuel rails on my 95sc300 and i did everything by the book as far as dicompressing the fuel lines and all that.

so i put it back together and now the darn thing wont start,it cranks but it does not burn! if anyone out ther knows what to do about this problem pleas help me out thankyou.

i have been trying to figure this out for weeks,went over and over everythin it could be but still the same...wont start.

one more thing,would you happend to know where i can find the tool to get that crankshaft bolt out i need something to hold the crankshaft. <_<

Yes, take it ALL apart, line all of your timing marks up, on the cams, crank etc, then reinstall :D Trust me, once you get it right, it will have been worth all the trouble it is to learn and do B)

yep, 2 or 3 teeth can for sure be the problem B)

my camshaft and my crankshafts pullys line up but not the timing belt,should i take off the timing belt completly and reinstall because i only took off what i needed to?could the timing belt be slipping?

thankyou soooo much for your help i'll keep on trying i kinda like know how my car works and i think it could be the timing belt because the teeth marks mist by like two or three teeth,i when to auto zone and rented the compression testing kit but i will install the timing belt again untill i get it right.thanks again :)

My vehicle has had 3 previous owners, and I don't have the full service history. It's a 97 sc300. I bought it with 100k miles on it and it seems to run great, but just to be on the safe side, I've been thinking about having the timing belt replaced this summer. It's got 110k miles on it now. Are there any symptoms, such as a characteristic noise from the engine, that I should be looking for? I'm not really inclined on engines so to be honest I'm not even sure where the timing belt is to look at and see if there are rubber teeth missing or what not. Just figured its better to change it now if it never has been than to be sorry I didn't later.

hi i have an sc300 its a 95 and the engine on these cars are a non-interfirence engine which means if the timing belt does break it would not harm the engine at all,it would just leave you stranded somewhere.

hi all i have an sc300 95 i have two exhuast valves on #6 cylinder bent cuz a sparkplug broke and fell in there so i took off the head and took it to the machine shop and had it fix.the i put the engine back together and the engine rotates like its goin to start but it doest start.does anyone have an idea of what i could have done wrong?thanks richar

Well, could be a hundred things. Have you checked for compression? Is the timing correct? Is there simply something not plugged in?

Compression check it, tell ya lots again B)

i will check compression i was thinking that yesterday,but if i dont have compression should i just get rid of it instead of keep wasting money on it?

Well, the first thing I would do is open the hood. With the motor cold, start it, and let it idle for about 1 minute. Then shut it off, and go around a put your hand on each exhaust port of the header. They should be warm. If you feel a cold one, then that cylinder may not be getting ignition. If it's only one, you may just have a loose igntion wire, and simple need to check them, clean them, reconnect them, I'm not sure if your on a distributor or coil packs, but iether way, it's probably that. Maybe some water is trapped in there, or a coil pack went bad.

If it's not that, then go around the throttlebody and make sure you don't have any vacuume leaks, cracked hoses, or vacuume hoses that seem to go to nothing. He may have just knocked on of them off with the hose.

And if it's not that, then maybe pull your timing belt cover and check the belts, and check your knock sensor.

And just an afterthought, You might want to check the air intake and make sure it's not full of water or something. It may be that the car is sucking water in thru the intake and needs to work that out, and it's causing misfires.( I don't know how long you have had this issue, and what your brother did with the water hose exactly.)

where is the knock sensor and how do i check it?

you probably have a bad altenator you should take it out and let auto zone check it out for you.

Hello I'm new to this forum and I just bought my Lexus SC300 the car seem to have some problem with the battery. For Example when I go and recharge my battery at autozone and I put it in the engine the next day there is no juice at all left in my battery I even try buying a new battery too but same problem I even made sure the head lights or any other light in the car wasnt on but I still had the same problem so please if somone had this problem before can you help me out.:cries:

hi iam new here but anyways this is the problem i have an sc300 95model i love this car and i will keep it for ever and ever but one day my brother wash the engine and the car started to shake alot so i replaced the wires and the spark plugs myself.and the car now shakes and stalls,has low rpms and engine turns on,so i checked the engine and it gives me a code 31 which indicates airflow meter right. OK so i go to the junkyard and get an airflow meter off a 92 sc300 i put it on and my baby is still doing the samething except that the engine light does not turn on but still shakes and very low rpms and i dont want to drive the car like this because i know it will stall on me in the middle of the road somewhere so what do i do help me please i dont want to take it to the stealer. thanks richard :cries:
