  1. My RX300 (2003) is coming upon the 90000 mile service. The dealership quotes $1650 for this service -- involves timing belt change, flush all fluids, replace wipers, inspect a bunch of stuff, oil change, replace ac and air filters. No water pump replacement. A non dealer service shop (ASE certified mechanics using NAPA parts) quotes $750 for replacing timing belt and water pump. If some of you all can help me with a couple of questions, I will be very grateful! * Is it risky to go with a ASE certified shop using NAPA parts as against going in for Lexus dealer? * Can I hold off on the timing belt replacement for about 10000 more miles? Would i be pushing it if i waited another six months to spend this money? thanks for your time and help!
  2. Regular oil change, replace wipers, flush transmission, flush brake fluids, check hoses etc -- I have asked for a complete listing to be faxed to me. Once I get it i will post it here. Thanks everyone for replying.
  3. Hi, My 2003 RX300 is due for a 60000 mile service. I am being quoted $1375 and a big chunk of the cost is valve adjustment. The same service without a valve adjustment is being quoted at $837. Is this valve adjustment required at 60000 miles? I use the RX300 just for commuting to work and dont really drive it under offroad conditions -- in other words, its gently used. Thanks for taking the time to read my post! s
