  1. That is the link I always use and neither the iPhone or Vu is listed but I didn't know how often they redo their data.
  2. I am considering getting a new cell phone and have considered getting either an iPhone or an LG Vu. Has anyone used them to connect to the Bluetooth connection of the navigation system on an '08 ES350?
  3. Keith - I stay away from Armorall as well, I recall reading a report that it actually harmed surfaces plus, it is more intended for vinyl. I would encourage the use of a leather cleaner and prep product - Mothers and McQuires (sp) are top choices in that area. Best of luck. Dave Laguana Niguel I use a product from Griot's Garage called Vinyl & Rubber Dressing. You apply it sparingly so it isn't costly to use. I use it on both my dash and tires. It gives a very nice protection to the dash that is not shiny at all. Same with the tires. Ron
  4. I just got some of the blue Speed Shine microfiber towels and they are really nice. Very thick and seem to do a nicer job than the white wax ones I have been using with Speed Shine.
  5. The Griot's Random Orbital has worked nicely. It is easy to use and I have found their polishes are aggressive enough to do a nice job without creating problems. The orbital keeps a cool touch to the metal but is effective. I decided to buy their 3" orbital after purchasing the 6". The 3" is nice for the smaller/closer areas. Since they are my first orbitals, I can't make a comparison to other models/brands, but am pleased with my decision to purchase the ones I did. I do work slowly as I may work only part of the car at one setting and then do another part on another day.
  6. I don't pretend to be an expert at detailing so take my advice with that in mind. I just enjoy keeping my cars looking nice and do a fairly good job. (1) Go to this site. At the bottom are some nice videos using an orbital. Similar techniques are described on other sites. I chose this one because it describes a technique that is similar whether using a machine or polishing and waxing by hand. Griots have a nice car care handbook that gives some at-the-ready instruction when you don't want to take the time to look it up on the internet. http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/car+ca...ndom+orbital.do (2) I avoid the sensors, but then clean them off with some eyeglass cleaning swabs to remove any residue. Hope this helps. There are other folks on here who are much more versed in detailing that I am and I have enjoyed reading their messages and gotten some very good ideas.
  7. I would let the dealer handle it. We had an RX330, and in a dealer's technicians hurry, he pushed the clip all the way through. They were going to have to replace the entire carpet. I chose to leave it alone and didn't have slippage of the mat. I would have preferred to have the clip - but............
  8. Where did you find the little light you mentioned?
  9. I'll chime in with those who brag on their interior cleaner. It is very effective. I use it for spots on home carpets as well as the car. Of all their products, I use Speed Shine, the clay, and their microfiber cloths the most. I wasn't familiar with Autopia and some of the other sites until I joined this forum. It sounds like there are excellent products on those sites as well. I don't know how interchangeable some of the products are between Griots and others. If anyone has experience there I would appreciate it. I have used the Griots products exclusively since 2001, am happy with them, but always open to getting something else if it is better.
  10. Had an 04 RX330 Bamboo Pearl and had 80000 miles. Zero problems. Gave it to our daughter. She is very pleased with it. Have an 08 RX350 Silver with 19000 miles. Seems good at present.
  11. Thanks Smooth 1. I use the gold ones for polish removal and the whites ones for was removal and Speed Shine. Do you use the gold ones for both polish and was removal?
  12. When I am preparing to drive and the car is out of park my 08 ES350 seems noisy. The sound is a groan/moan. The best example is that I have started the car, engaged reverse - the sound appears. It will go away once I have backed a out of the drive. Once I have stopped, placed the car in drive, and prepare to pull away, the sound will re-appear for just a moment or so. I just turned 8400 miles on the car. Anyone else have the experience?
  13. Did you purchase the polish/wax removal pads or just remove by hand?
