  1. The car does have the phone and the lexus link. But the lexus link was just removed by Lexus as the analog service has been terminated. In the last week the Nav unit has not stopped working. I hit the map or destination buttin and I get nothing. Maybe it was the Nav controller that is locking up the audio??? Do you know how to remove the trunk panels to access the AMP? Also, Do you know where the Nav DVD controller is located? Is it under the seat? I want to disconnect it to see if my radio audio returns.
  2. Nothing to report yet. I am still working on it. I know it's not the radio, as I swapped it out with another one and it did the same thing. I am suspecting the AMP. I was told by Lexus that there is an audio control computer that switches the sound from various inputs, like the Lexus Link system, CD, Tape, etc. It is not in the radio, so I would have to assume it's in the amlpifier.

  4. I have a 2001 LS430 Ultra with Navigation. The problem I have is with intermittent audio (does not come on initially, but once it does it works fine). I have been told that there is an audio control unit that senses the source of audio (lexus link, radio, cd, etc.) and switches the audio to the speakers. Is this integrated into the AMP, or is it a separate controller? If so, where is it located? Any ideas as to what might be the problem?
  5. Excellent suggestion!!! Thank you very much for the information. I wll make an appoinment right away.
  6. I have a 2001 LS430 Ultra. Does anyone know how the audio from the Lexus Link interfaces to the radio/amplifier? Is this a relay that closes off the audio from the radio to the speakers and sends the "The Lexus Link System is Active" message instead? When I start my car I get the "Lexus Link" message through my speakers, but the audio from the Radio either never come on, or takes from 5 to 20 minutes to come on. The radio if fine, as I have already replaced it and the probelm did not go away. I think that what ever interfaces this "Lexus Link" broadcast to the audio system is sticking active (open), for a period of time preventing the audio from the radio from being heard. The only other option is that the amplifier has an issue, but if this were the case I would have to assume I should not be getting the "Lexus Link" audio message through the speakers. Thanks in advance for any assistance that can be provided!
  7. I gave my 1st lexus, a 92 LS400 to my Mother in Law with 110K mi. on it and I purchased an '01 LS 430 Ultra. Here is the latest update on both. '92 LS400 - 235K mi. '01 LS430 - 135K mi. The '92 has only needed a rear main seal and the '01 has not needed any major service... other than 3 windshields in 12 months due to rock chips!! Neither of us have plans to part with them any time soon!!!
  8. I have a 2001 LS430 Ultra w/ Mark Levinson Audio. For the past few years I would get no audio when the outside temperature was below 20 degrees F. In the last month the same issue is now happening intermittently at any temperature. Sometimes it takes a few minutes before the sound comes on and other times it never comes on at all. The radio has power, the stations display on the Nav screen, but when there is no audio, the "Sound" controls on the nav screen do not show the colored bars to adjust fade, balance etc.. Once the sound comes back these control again show up. I have replaced the radio/CD changer and the issue did not go away. Does anyone know if their is another module that controls these functions that I should look at? Is this a function of the amp? Does the Nav unit have any impact on the audit output? I'm going crazy without my music when I drive, so any help woudl be greatly appreciated.
