Are you sure these instructions are for 90-94 LS400s. As 90-94 I'm quite positive you can't program keys, you have to purchase them in a set with a chip for your car. As I did to fix my keyless entry.

If it's a 93+ I have info on a guy who can fix it for you for much less. Give me a day or two and I"ll dig up the info.

Same thing happened to me when my battery was shot. Got a new battery and it worked fine. Also a year after that it started happening again, however it was my A/C Compressor that was almost seized and at low idle when the a/c was on the car would stall. Disconnected the a/c compress and all work well again. Havn't had A/C for about 8 months now, finally just got a new A/C compressor in the mail, just needs to be installed.

Everything is good now, I took the trunk lining out again and finally found the spot for the chip. Here are the pics

Still havn't been able to find out where to install the ROM chip in the car. I was told it was near the toolbox in the trunk. I see below the toolbox there is a box that's about 4 X 6 In but can't find anywhere to put the chip

I can get Remote Keys for 90-04 LS400s if anyone needs them. You have to buy a ROM (Chip for the car) with matching Key. Normally they are 300-400 US at the dealer. Depending on how many keys you want with it I can get Chip and Keys for $125- $190

Well As I suspected the Key I got off ebay couldn't be program. According to the Lexus dealership 90-94's LS400's if the Key breaks you need to puchase a new key w/ chip (as a matching set) chip is refered to as a ROM which gets installed in the car somewhere. Anyhow I've since purchased a matching chip and Key, now I just need to figure out where the chip (ROM) goes in the car so that I don't have to take it to the dealership again. I've already spend $100 for them to diagnose the problem before (Basically they told me my key no longer transmits) any suggestions?

Recently my keyless entry stopped working. I was wondering if anyone has encoutered this before on a 90-92 LS400. The dealership wants me to buy a new remote and ROM. I'm assuming that means a new key and a new transmitter in the car? I bought a Key off ebay doesn't anyone know if it's possible to program this for my car or do I need a new transmitter in the car as well?
