  1. You might want to look at the OEM alternators for newer versions of Toyota vehicles that have the 3.0L straight 6. I think that is your motor but I could be wrong. The mechanical fit might be a match because the motor is based on the same platform. Perhaps they will have higher amperage too? I have read online that the new IS250/350's have a 100A OEM alternator. These cars are V6 motors so I don't think that they will bolt up directly. Regards, I've done some research on this, and apart from having an electrical shop do the upgrade, it looks like the newer highlander alternators are a direct bolt on. They are also 130amp, and can be gotten for 50 bucks from a junkyard :D Will keep you guys updated on how that goes. btw the engine is a 1mzfe (v6) Could you do me a favour? Can you find out for me what kind of alternator a Lexus IS 220D (yeah Diesel) from 2007 has as a stock alternator. I thought I saw it was 130A or something? I am looking to replace the stock alternator with a bigger one, somewhere around 250A. But I am having a really hard time to find a company which can provide me with one. Tried several companies already, e.g. HO alts, Ohio Generator, Iraggi Alts, etc. But totally without succes. :( Your best bet is to call a lexus dealership and ask them. I will keep an eye out though while I'm doing this to see if I can turn up anything . (ive never even heard of an is220d lol) Any luck yet? :( 220d means DIESEL, very common overhere though.

  3. Well managed to pull everything loose, except for the top (window) part... It seems to stay stuck? All the other sides, bottom and middle are loose now... Except for the top part. :S Any ideas?
  4. Hi guys... I am switching my doorspeakers, but I have some problems with removing the doorpanel with my Lexus IS 220 (2007). I am scared of breaking something, so I would like to have some advice... I already tried to search the forum, but I could not find anything about removing the doorpanels on a IS 220d. :( Here is a picture taken with my cell phone (1600x1200) http://www.mvdl.info/door1.jpg I "already" removed the part located at A and underneath is a screw. But before I continue, what do I need to remove more and where (without breaking anything). Thanks!
  5. First, let me say hi guys, I am new to this forum (at least the US version of Lexus Owners Club). :) I'll make this as short as possible... I currenlt have a custom sound system in my car, with the following specs: - Original (Lexus) HUD and amplifier - Rockford Fosgate 3SIXTY.2 - Front Tweeters: 1 pair of Scan-Speak D2904/6000 - Front Woofers: 1 pair Seas W18NX-001 - JL Audio 450/4 amplifier - JL Audio 1000/1 amplifier - 2 SoundSplinter RLp-12 subwoofers - LA Storm 50 Farad capacitator - Standard Lexus Battery + Optima Yellowtop battery - Cables, etc... Anyways, since I have just ordered another JL Audio 1000/1 amplifier, I starting to think I will be going to experience some electric difficulties with the stock alternator. My Lexus is a Lexus IS 220d (yes Diesel, it's more common in Europe then in the USA) and I think the stock alternator is 120A or something similar. Now I was wondering, since you guys in the USA know a lot more (and thus are better experienced) about high quality sound systems, if you can recommend me where to get a stronger alternator, to replace the stock alternator. I already tried Google to find a few High Output (HO) alternators, but so far they cannot provide a high output alternator for my Lexus IS 220d. So hopefully one of you guys can provide me, the much needed, help with my search... I already asked for help on the European forums, but they think I am nuts (or don't want to help me out)... Thanks in advance guys!
