  1. According to the service manual there is very little that has to be done at 80K (I think just oil change and AC filter).

    But there is a bunch of stuff to be checked.

    I'm used to taking a car into the dealer every 10,000 miles but I'm really wondering if this is necessary with a

    2001 Lexus.

    Should I just get the oil changed and ignore the 80,000 dealer service?

    Thanks for advice.

  2. I have a 2001 ES300 with 75,000 miles. According to the manual the timing belt should be changed at

    90,000 miles or a 72 months. Clearly, the 72 months are up but I have never before heard of changing

    a timing belt based on a time period? Should I change it and the water pump at this time?
