  1. According to the service manual there is very little that has to be done at 80K (I think just oil change and AC filter). But there is a bunch of stuff to be checked. I'm used to taking a car into the dealer every 10,000 miles but I'm really wondering if this is necessary with a 2001 Lexus. Should I just get the oil changed and ignore the 80,000 dealer service? Thanks for advice.
  2. 2001 ES 3000, 75,000miles, silver Puchased 2005 for $19,000 with 54,000 miles, off lease Had 60,000 service at Toyota dealer, brakes Just had timing belt/ water pump replaced, 75,000 service, $800 at Toyota dealer Car runs great. Amazingly smooth. No problems at all yet.
  3. I appreciate your comment. I'll get it done.
  4. I have a 2001 ES300 with 75,000 miles. According to the manual the timing belt should be changed at 90,000 miles or a 72 months. Clearly, the 72 months are up but I have never before heard of changing a timing belt based on a time period? Should I change it and the water pump at this time? Thanks.
