  1. Yeah I used Lexol. It works pretty well. I have gone over the leather twice, and it has helped a lot. I rubbed it in, let it sit for 5 mins, and then wiped off the excess. I have researched out Leatherique and it is supposed to be the best. I have talked to professional restorers that swear by it. I have an appt to have my interior completely restored with Leatherique and they ensure it will look new! I'll let you know.

  2. Hello. Noticing that the 15" tires on my stock LS wheels look really wimpy and the car needs more. Can anyone suggest what I can put on these rims, can I go larger on the rim? Should I get some new ones? If so, what rims and tires are going to give me the look and feel I want, more like the 94-95 models? I am new to a LS and dont have a clue. 16's??? Thanks! :)

  3. Yeah good point. Ill ask Lex dlr who they use, and check your link for deals. It is nice to know that there are options to correcting the problem with the interiors that dont cost in the 1000's. I'll let you know how it turns out when its done. I think I will buy Leatherique and treat myself and just pay them to Dye them. Maybe the will Leatherique for cheap too. who knows. Thanks guys. I am totally restoring this car, so I'll let you know what I come across along the way. It's a car , just needs some TLC. If I can help you with something, lemme know. Later - travis

  4. Curt. Will do. I have talked to many people now who have had their leather cleaned and treated, then prepped and re-dyed. After this process apparently it is like new. No need to reupholster. We'll see. If anyone asks have them check out www.leatherique.com - this stuff takes old and makes new again, from the testimonials I have read, products been around for like 80 years or something and it is a miracle drug for leather. Thanks travis

  5. Hey thanks for the info. That helps. Your turned out great! spoke to another guy that told me he can do the whole car for $300.00 and restore the seats to like new condition. They use Leatherique restoration oil which helps restore the softness. Then they die it to original. I thought about just having the entire car done so it will all be the same. I'll call Lexus and ask, and see if there are any used ones around. Thanks for the help! :D

  6. Hello all. I bought a 1992 LS400. The leather has no tears but does have the dark lines and is dry and rough in places. I already cleaned and conditioned the entire car with Mequiars conditioner/cleaner and then again with Lexol. This did help some, but still not really good. Can I pay someone to strip and redye the seats? SHould this bring back soft nice new looking seats? I talked to a guy that told me he will come to my house and do it for $75 per seat and they should look new after 1 day. Any thoughts? THANKS A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. I to used the advice from this forum and shipped my LCD to Mikado for repair. I was very pleased with the result and the service. For some reason, they told me $245 on the phone, and that's what was charged. I had the unit back in the car within a few days. I would highly recomend Mikado fot the LCD repair, I could't find a used unit in the junkyard for that price.

Hi Jeff, do you by any chance have any pictures or if not can you take pictures of your new LCD repaired by Mikado? I sew one repaired by Jim Walker but the fonts are diferent, is okay if you do it just to be able to see the time and the temp. reading but when you see both of them together you can see the difference in font and in layout, the one replaced by Jim Walker has the layout a little to the top, so you can see is not centered and the font is smaller by a couple of sizes maybe, it would be of big help for all of us who have this problem with the LCD's if we could compare and go where is more satisfacroty for us, thanks for the attention I will post a picture of the one repaired by Jim.

    :)

    Walter.-

Contact Jim at the info below. He manufactures the LCD displays for a very reasonable fee and may be able to offer warranty depending on which option you choose.
