  1. I have a SC300 manual. It has an open differential with low gears. I found an Aristo LSD diff. Will it swap over to the SC300? What is the gear ratios on the Aristo's? Would i be stepping up to higher gears? Currently my car tacs at 3000rpm at 70mph. I am hoping to drop the rpms to around 2500rpm by getting a higher ratio. The car has a single turbo with lots of horse power so I am not worried about my hole shot. The LSD should help. Appreciate the help. Thanks
  2. I have a SC300 with the GTZ single turbo conversion. It runs great but has developed a problem that is getting worse. Sometimes when things get hot the engine dies. The started and all ectrical lights work but the car stops getting ignition or possibly fuel. Sometimes it seems to be starving for fuel. Usually if I keep the rpms up it will get me home but if I let it get loo low it dies again. When it dies it normally will not start immediately. On a couple of occassions I have thumped around on the fuse box undet the hood and the car starts and runs again for a while. I think something electirical is overheating or getting weak. I hate to start changing parts without a reasonalble place to start. Has anyone had simuliar problems? Thanks
  3. My SC300 has a single turgo conversion. It runs great but has a new problem. When the temp outside gets around 100 the car won't start or if it starts, has a tendancy to die at low rpm and then not start. The starter turns over and all the lights and such works. Acts like there is suddenly no spark or no fuel. Problem is getting worse. Sometimes I have opened the hood and wiggled/knocked around on the fuse cover and electiral boxes and the car has started but just could have been lucky - that doesn't always work. I think something electrical is getting weak. The car chasis has 177000 miles. Where do I start?
  4. I have been hoping to find a limited slip diff for my SC300. There is a Torsen listed on ebay for a cressida and the guy thinks it will fit the Soarer but was not sure about a SC300. The Torsen folks couldn't help me either. Has anyone ever found a bolt in LSD for a SC300 or is the Supra pumkin switch the only option?
  5. I may have found a torson T1 out of Japan. I don't know what it came out of or the gear ratio but it is supposed to fit my SC300. Has anyone had any experience with the Torson???
  6. Thanks for the link. Have you tried one of these? I hope to get some more info. I am not into drifting, more into drag. I wonder if a 1.5 would be a better application. I wonder if the auto and 5sp rear ends are the same...
  7. Thanks for the info.... TRD sounds like the way to go. I will keep my eyes open. What HP are you pulling and what kind of times??? Is your SC400 running a 2jz or the V8? Is the SC 400 single track? Yes, my swap was with a JDM 2jz out of an Aristo. I need to make some runs but I don't expect much better than mid 12s. I can't keep the power on the road with the single track. I am running 285/35/18s on the rear, so the rubber is there. Just added a twin custom Borla exhaust.... good stuff. Very low and mellow but cut back on turbo lag and really helped the flow.
  8. I have had my 95 SC300 for about 6 months. It started as a 5sd. I swapped a JDM Aristo with twin ceramic turbos. It pushed about 375hp. I wanted a little more so, I upgraded the injectors to US. specs (550cc) and replaced the twins with a single 71 mm turbo and boost control. (I still have the Japanese twins if anyone needs em). This is my weekend ride but I like long weekends. The car runs strong with no real issues. I had to upgrade the exhaust to offset backpressure turbo lag. Now I run 400hp on pump (93) at about 25-29 psi boost. When I add a couple to three gallons of the good stuff, and turn up the boost (35 - 40) she runs 450+. I LIKE IT!!! More power than I can keep hooked up. Now I am looking to upgrade the single track rearend. If you have the choice I would go with the 6spd. The 5spd and factory rear is pretty low geared. It runs around 3000rpm at 70mph in 5th. It would be nice to drop down to 2000 or so with a higher overdrive... You will also have to figure in a cooler. I am using the factory JDM off the Aristo but have been told another 25 - 50 hp can be gotten with a larger innercooler. Good luck
  9. I would definitely unhook the battery first... Bad things like air bags could happen.
  10. I have a 95 SC300 with a 71mm turbo, 550 cc injectors, 5spd, borla exhaust, and 18/35/285 tires. She pushes 450HP at 25 boost. The problem is only one tire pulls. What is the best LSD for my SC300? I was told a GS300 rr was LSD and would fit. Anyone have any ideas???
  11. Running catless. Not a deal in Oklahoma. 3" downpipe to extension to factory piped twins. When I add racing gas and boost up, my single track rearend really breaks loose, any ideas on posi/limited slip upgrades?
  12. I have a 95 SC300 with a 5spd. Currently the back-up lights won't work. I checked the #14 fuse (same as dash lights) and it is good. The dash lights are also ok. The bulbs are good but not getting any volts. Any/all help or ideas appreciated. Thanks
  13. I recently had an Aristo converted to a single 41 mm turbo in my SC300. It has a nice 3" downpipe that bolts up to the factory twin exhausts. The factory twins are very quiet but, very flow restrictive. I am thinking that I can extent my 3" pipe and split into two 2 1/2 twins. (3" all the way looks like a pot hole magnet). I am hoping for advice on what type of muffler I should hang on the twins? I am wanting to let the exhaust breath better but not pick up too much cabin sounds. I have seen a few studies on different mufflers but hoping to hear from those who are not selling something. Thanks for any info.
  14. If you want a stock cd changer for your pioneer system I have them. The nak system is totally different except for the speakers. How much to get a Pioneer 12 disc player with cartidge sent to the Okla City area? You wouldn't happen to have a working power antenna?

  16. No worries, the motor in you SC is bullet proof and the bottom end can handle 1000 hp without mods. If you want it to goooo, you will need to turbo... You can get a Jap swap from an Aristo and get twin turbos or you can get a NA conversion to a single turbo. The problem is speed is not cheap.
  17. I just got my awesome 1995, SC300. It did not have the changer in the trunk so I am wanting to get one. I have found both pioneer and nakamachi on ebay. Will they both work with my Pioneer amp? Most of the ebay changers do not have cartidges. Will these also interchange? Is there an tried and true aftermarket replacement? If anyone is interested, the car had a Aristo twin turbo in it. I opted for a single turbo, so now I have the twins set up left over. I need an exhaust upgrade and a front inner cooler so I am open to trades. Thanks
