  1. Im sure this has been talked about before, but i can find anything.

Looking at the sc300's, it seems like a plenum style more like the 2JZ GtE would make more sense for turbo applications (front mount plumbing). Ive only been able to find a picture, no info. are there any gains other than easier plug changing to be had? Would the added cost not be worth it?

  2. An o2 sensor does just what its called. it measures o2's from your exhaust flow.

The ecu reads the o2's signal by voltage. from this it gets your motors air to fuel ratios for that moment. the ecu then makes adjustments to optimize your air to fuel. If your sensors go out most cars will just run rich and lose gas mileage.

they should be located just after the collector (the place your exhaust manifold comes together). I believe an OBD2 car will have another just after the catilitic converter.

Get a can of PB Buster, they may be stuck.

  3. I heard Zex is coming out with a wet kit. how true that is i don't know.

As far as your setup goes though i would not go dry unless your only looking for a 50 shot.

I also would not use the zex filter. I big plus about n2o is that it lowers the intake charge. to have the n2o travel so far to get to the motor you would gain unwanted temps.

Any wet NOS or NX fuel injected or "import" kit would work. as long as you can tap a hole about 6-8 inches from the throttle body your in good shape.

  4. changed my tranny fluid lately and added the recommended amount as stated by the manual as well.

did you measure the amount you drained?

Also, ive never seen a SC AT dip stick but some have a collar that seals/ stops it from just falling in. ive seen that get lose and give enough to cause a wrong reading.

  5. Dont just start it up and floor it cold. Many cars with high miles will have leaking valve seals that will smoke a minute after startup. get it up to temp first. you can also just look at your plugs. they would have black gunk around the threads (that could also be a leaking valvecover to plug gasket) or electrode.

I would think with that much loss though you would have to notice burning (youre not blind are you?).

have you looked at the undercarriage for oil?

  6. Are you burning any bluish white smoke? If not i would fill it to spec and just keep an eye on it. Temp and gravity (oil just hanging out in the head before it drains) can play tricks on you sometimes.

there are only so many places oil can go. burn or leak.

  7. More power.

My car has a curb weight of 3100 pounds and thats before all the crap ive instaled. Some parts lose weight, most dont. But if you have the power to back up that huge a__ then it goes un-noticed (until some 2500 pound civic hands you your butt out of a corner, but come on, how often does that happen).

Ive found the a crisper suspention will make the car "feel" lighter. I just cant see chopping Lexus, just not my idea of a lexus.

Ive been test driving my buddy's sc3 auto and to tell you the truth i was surprised how light it felt compared to my gsx. not LIGHT but lighter than i expected.

Jerry spring final thought. the fastest cruise ship in the world has 4 engines at 13,000 horsepower (travel channel). Who knows how much the damn thing weighs. :geek:
