  1. I did it one day too late after I lost one rear tire and the replacement cost me $325 at the dealer (Tire Rack price is $230 plus shipping, install, tax, etc).

The extended warranty for tires which covers everyting except curb damage to the tire (and rim) for 5 years unlimited mileage and a maximum covered accrued loss of $5K during the life of the contract cost me $439 with tax.

As I put 20K miles per yr in the car I assume I will have at least one more tire to replace and probably two or three flats in that period. Not a fantastic deal, but plenty of peace of mind...

now I don't worry about debris on the road ... I drive much more relaxed...

I bought the tire and wheel warranty. Just peace of mind really. Wheels are expensive.

  2. I pick up my IS 250 X package this afternoon. I noticed on the brochure it states that the tires may get less than 15k miles of tread life and the brakes less than 20k on the pads on 50k on the rotors. Would you say this is an accurate statement? What would you say pads and tires cost? I drive approximately 15k per year and the thought of replacing tires each year is a bit troubling.

Thanks in advance for the response.
