I have an IS-350. I recently got a new cell phone, Motorola RAZR V3. I cannot get it to Auto Connect to the IS-350 bluetooth. AFter the initial registration it never asks for the password again but I must manually connect each time. I know it is not the phone as it works fine with other Bluetoot devices.

Any ideas?

I use to have that phone with my IS 250 and it wouldnt auto connect with the car. Its the phones problem not the car, i recently just bought a samsung slider and works just perfect

I am interested in getting this mod done to my car... Does anyone know of any good sites to order these from, i really want the best deal. I just want them for the front, and does anyone know if this mod is possible on an IS 250 w/o the luxury package.

Anyone with the IS250's experiencing a half second delay when one floors the gas pedal to the ground?? Is this feature supposed to be like this? Its kind of silly, since the whole idea of flooring the gas pedal is to accelerate INSTANTLY and not have that half second delay before it reponse??

ya i experience that same feeling, when u punch it, it takes a second and than starts to accelerate, i wonder if its like that with the 350 as well... try it in the semi manual... it seems more responsive to me a little..

I know that BMW has a whole website dedicated to small mods for their cars. Are there any good websites out there for small mods for the lexus is? Any feedback would be great...

Is the brake light on the spoiler?

ya most spoilers are to high and block the brake light, but because the lexus is spoiler is more of a lip, it is low enough where the other drivers can still see the brakelight

I am interested in getting an intake and exhaust.. Do these void your warranty? I know replacing the headers void the warranty but do these ?

I know that on the Bmw 3 series there is a way to open a valve under the exhaust to make it louder at low RPM's and at idle.

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any such feature on the IS (nor have I read about one).

But if its not too far off topic, can you tell me more about the BMW feature? It sounds like you're describing an exhaust "cut-out". I didn't know BMW's had this either. Is it a stock feature or possibly an aftermarket add-on? Lastly, is it located before the muffler or on the muffler?

I will say that cut-out's are typically absurdly loud (and at all RPM's, not just idle), so perhaps what you're referring to is some sort of resonator for certain frequencies. Kind of makes me think of the soup can mufflers (except I haven't seen one on any BMW's...not that it hasn't been done!).

Man im not sure if i am explaining it to you right, since my friend has the 335 with the sports package... What he told me is that it has something to do with the muffler, and how a valve was closed at idle and at low rpms by unplugging the valve [something like that] it is always open therefore creates more noise...

We don't get the 350 in South Africa .How much quicker than the 250 is it?

My 250 is plenty fast enough. If you are interested in speed buy a motor bike !

the 250 is more like 7.5 0 - 60, while the 350 is 5.5 0 - 60... the 350 is much quicker in all terms, there is no comparison, if you arent going for complete speed and just want a little sportiness the 250 is fine

I just want a car that looks fast to actually be fast...I guess I see what you guys are saying but if i went with the 250 and modded it I would just buy it out. So is350 seems like the way to go so far.

I agree with everyone. Go for the IS 350 if you want speed. If for some wierd reason you cant you could make the IS 250 faster by getting a intake, exhaust system, a chip, somehow a turbo and i have no idea , just go for the 350, that car is a beast...

I just got my IS 250 2 days ago and when I was driving to work this morning on the freeway, a redish-orange light (in a ring form) lit up on the odometer. It says in the manual that a red warning light will appear if the engine reachess a "dangerous speed." I wasn't going terribly fast - maybe 70 or 75. Any ideas? Am I driving the car too fast during the beginning (does it need to be driven more slowly for the first 1000 miles or something?)

O dont even worry about that, you can set the colored rings to go off at anytime. The standard set is for the orange to go off at 75 or 80, and the red goes off at 100, its more to just remind you of your speed, it doesnt mean your going to fast for the car...

Ok so after having my car for 6 months, Im dying for more power. Now I know I should have bought the IS350 but for some reason my dads company wouldnt insure it. *BLEEP*s. haha

So does anyone have any ideas on how to get more power out of the engine..now I know a turbo would work but thats a last resort..any other ideas?? (brands and items specifically??)

well small mods that you can do are getting a new intake and exhaust system. This will increase your horsepower and make it sound nicer, but your performance still wont increase that much. Dyno it? Do some research and try to find a chip for it.

I don't think so. I got my IS tinted at 35% and NAV and key works perfectly. I HIGHLY recommend tinting your IS. I have a black IS and the tint takes the entire car up a notch!

I gotta agreed with Rcace, 35% is the way to go. I was about tint my is250 all around include both front windows, but saving up to pay for the loan. Call around to your local tint shop, they shouold be charging roughly $260 or higher. If less, Wooow wat a deal... Good Luck

O wow 260 thats so expensive. I found this place that does it for 170, and i said wow what a great deal, i end up finding another great deal for 145... I might do the 170 place just because two of my friends went there and both of their cars werent damaged.

i don't have a pic and i'm not sure you should trust a pic of tint. I would ask the tint company to show you an example of the 35% tint (they should have an example piece of glass with 35%. 25% is NOT enough. and above 35% is really dark (and might be illegal in your state). Personally, I have found 35% to be the best percentage.

I have a question for you. Do you have NAV? If so, can you play DVDs on it? I have posted a question about my DVD not working......I'm not sure if my IS has the ability to play it...I thought it did, but it's not recognizing that it's a DVD. It thinks it's a CD. I get "CD Check". Any suggestions?

O well if you dont have the special Mark Levingson [something like that] package then you cant play dvds... its only for the lexus is 350 with the luxury package.

Ya o and about the tint doesnt it get darker the smaller the number gets like 70 being hte lightest, and 5 being the darkest? Im wondering if 35 is dark enough in your opinion?

I was interested in getting a window tint on my 2007 Lexus IS 250. I feel it will make the car look very nice. I am wondering if you need a certain kind of tint in order to avoid interfering with the navigation signal, and the comfort access [key]... Let me know if you need a certain type of tint?

I just installed the redout material on my lights today...

This is the best, cheapest, and easiest way to make your car look nice. I recomend it to anyone because for some reason it makes the car so much nicer. You might want to order to sets of the material, just in case one doesnt install properly, or one is destroyed after a few years...
