  1. Greetings! I'm trying to set up my new Cingular Treo 680 phone with the onboard phone in my RX400h. So far, I've been able to follow the directions in the Navigation System manual to successfully pair the Treo with the phone system. But it looks like I need to complete 2 setup tasks to make this work: 1. pair the phone and the car-phone (BT pairing) 2. add a new phone selection to identify the device for the car-phone to contact when a call comes in Task #1 seems to be complete -- I show the HANDSFREE entry on my Treo as a Trusted Device, and as the primary BT connection. Task #2 is more difficult (I should back up here for a moment to say that my old Treo 650 worked just fine as the old BT connection for this car-phone. However, I had to Delete the old entry because the BTaddr was wrong (for the old phone). Now there are no entries in the Phone section, and the "Select" button is grayed out. This is a chicken'n'egg problem -- how do I add the first entry (doesn't seem to handle this special case in the manual -- just says to "Select" the entry you want to use). Any tips on how to add the first phone? thanks in advance for any assistance, --fastkeys
  2. Just got back -- popped the little cover as you recommended and push the button that was underneath; the parking gear was immediately unlocked. THANK YOU! --fastkeys
  3. Hmm.... Dunno, how can I do this? How do I remove the cover? And where is this override button? (BTW, the "READY" light does go on, so I'm pretty sure that I could drive -- if I could get the car back into the proper gear! I'm going back to the bank in a hour or so, and would like to try this, but need more info. thanks for your tip - can you tell me more? --fastkeys To the left of the shifter is a small black plastic door in the wood trim - just use a small flat blade screwdriver to pry it up (there's a little slot). Then push the button in the hole - this will let you shift the car. You may have to hold the button down while you pull the shift lever - I don't remember. It should also be in your owner's manual, sorry I don't have mine handy to give you the page number. Look under brake shift over ride or lock out - but it is in there. Great! I know exactly where that little cover is -- and have wondered why it was there... I'll definitely head over to the car to see if I can start it this morning! Thanks for the information -- I'll post back my test results when I get back! --fastkeys

  5. Greetings! My RX400h is sitting overnight in my bank's parking lot because it's stuck in park! I confused the onboard computer when I stopped the car while it was in Neutral, and then put it into Park. When I tried to start the car a minute later, the "READY" light came back on but: 1. the "BRAKE" light stayed on, regardless of the "real" brake position, and 2. the gearshift was locked in "PARK". I retried the startup sequence several time, and even removed the key, got out of the car and locked/unlocked the alarm to simulate a "real" parking scenario, but no luck. The car was and is still stuck in the "PARK" position. It's going to sit in the bank parking lot (since it can't be driven anyway), and it'll be towed to the dealership first thing tomorrow morning. Has anyone heard of this problem before -- I'm quite unhappy with the car at the moment! Any tips to prevent this behavior (or recover from it) would be much appreciated! regards, --fastkeys
  6. Palm bluetooth has always been hit or miss, since the Treo 650 days. Just because it says bluetooth, doesn't mean their compatible. Treos are not listed as compatible on the Lexus website. If you check with the Palm Treo forum sites, such as Treocentral, you'll see all sorts of compatibility issues with cars, headsets, etc. Hi, I just upgraded my Treo 650 to a 680 and am having problems pairing the new phone with the builtin phone on my RX400h. Cingular of course is *no help*, as is Palm. (I called them for tech support yesterday - big 0, as far as real knowledgeable assistance.) However, I was searching on the Palm website last evening, and found a recently posted (May 27) mega upgrade for the Treo 750/680 devices that (funny the Palm tech didn't mention that they had a recent upgrade) supposedly fixes a number of issues, like power management, and BT support. Installed the upgrade last night, and just tried to pair the phone with the car -- partial success this morning! The handset is now recognized by the car -- and I have a new "Trusted Device" logged on the Treo, but am not currently able to add the new "Phone" entry to the built-in Lexus phone software. Anyway, I'm further along than before -- hope the upgrade works for you! regards, --fastkeys
