  1. Hi, Ok this is a deal. About week ago I replaced AC Compressor, drier and converted to 134 and it works great when it wants to work. Sometimes my AC light starts blinking and the compressor shuts off. I checked the codes and I'm getting 21* which is a Solar Sensor. Can somebody tell me where is this ting located at and what could be wrong with it. And also if anyone knows how to fix it would be useful. Thanks
  2. HI, Can somebody help me please? I just replaced my AC compressor and converted it to 134 and it worked fine for a day. Yesterday afternoon the AC light started blinking and it stopped working. I left it for about two hrs and turned back on and it worked fine again. Today it's working so I was just wandering what could be causing that? The frion isn't low or anything. Help please.
  3. Hi, Can somebody tell me if I wanted to buy a Toyota AC compressor to put in my '92 LEXUS LS400 instead of original Lexus one for what Toyota year and model should I get one? And can this even be done. It seems that Toyota AC Compressors are much cheaper than Lexus. An also I found universal AC Compressor. Does anyone know if that would work? Thanks
  4. "air mix......" Don't know your MY but for early LSes check the coolant flow valve to the heater core to see if its seized. Its mounted at the top center of the firewall in the engine compartment and and should move from fully closed to fully open as you move the control back and forth from 65F to 85F, full heat to/from maximum cold. If it does not move then remove the push pull cable from the valve and see if it, the cable end, then will move. If it does then the water flow valve is stuck, a fairly common failure. With the push/pull cable off you should be able to grip the water flow valve control "arm" and fairly easily move it full travel, about 90 degrees. "air inlet...." By removing the dash mounted glove box entirely you should be able to observe the air inlet door/damper move from fresh airflow to recirculate as you switch between those modes. None of these have anything to do with compressor failure or not. I don't have my shop manuals here at the office but it may be the these two servomotors share a common fuse and a stuck water flow valve caused the fuse to blow. Thanks for that, Can you please tell me if this can be used on every car or is it just for a certain model? http://www.turboninjas.com/camry/ac.pdf
  5. Hi, Can somebody please tell me what do these codes mean in english and if there is a way for me to fix this by myself? Open in air mix damper position sensor circuit. Or, open or short in air mix servomotor circuit. Or, air mix servomotor locked. Open in air inlet damper position sensor circuit. Or, open or short in air inlet sensor servomotor circuit. Or, air inlet servomotor locked. My tech wants me to replace AC Compressor and I'm not too sure about it. So can I get some help please? Thanks
  6. Hi, Can somebody please tell me how expensive is a kit to do a retrofit on my 1992 Lexus LS400, and also Is there a special one just for lexus or is this same in every car? Thanks
  7. Ok thanks. I took the car to the shop and they recharged it and put a die in and there is no leaks but it still doesn't work. As soon as I turn the AC on clutch engages and as I understand it is suposed to go on and off but it doesn't it turns all the time. I can hear the clicking sound coming from the compressor. I checked the belt and it's in a good condition. Do you think I need a new compressor? And can you please tell me what is WOT? With the A/C "on", enabled, there are only a few things that will result in the compressor clutch being disengaged. 1. Refrigerant pressure too low...generally meaning low on refrigerant. 2. Refrigerant pressure high.....normal occurrance. 3. Evaporator temperature too close to freezing. 4. OAT below about 35F 5. WOT. 6. Engine coolant temperature too high. Running continuously might mean the system is heavily loaded, liquid refrigerant is being exhausted as fast as it can be compressed/pumped, HOT day, bright sunshine, 4+ passengers, black exterior/interior, open windows, etc. Or it might also mean the refrigernat level is marginal.
  8. Hi, I also have '92 LS400 and the same problem. I took mine to Lexus dealrship and they told me it has to be sent out to be fixed which would cost me $800.00. So of course I just installed a regulat CD player and then I found a local guy that fixes radios and TV's and he looked at it. Turned out the motor in the CD changer was bad and needed to be replaced which cost me $50.00 so try to find somebody locally to fix it for you. I think if you go to a local Audio store they might be able to reffer you to somebody. I fixed mine but it doesn't have MP3 so I just left the regular one in.
  9. Hi, Can somebody please tell me what is the cause of a AC clutch turning all the time when AC is on? And if that can be fixed. Thanks
  10. Hi, Can somebody tell me where can i find 1992 LEXUS LS400 AC Compressor for under $400.00. It doesn't have to be new. Thanks
  11. I have a problem with my ac. When the summer started I noticed that my ac isn't blowing cold so I went and rechargded it (R-12) and it worked fine for two days. When it stoped blowing cold light started blinking. I took it to the shop and they told me that I have to replace the compressor which is about $1600.00. Now before I do that can somebody tell me how can I be sure that is what the problem is? Is there a way to check because it just doesn't make any sense to me that it worked for two days and then it stops, if compressor was bad it wouldn't work at all right? It did that last summer too but I wouldn't fix it because it was the end of the summer and I thought it was just empty. Also If I have to replace compressor do I have to replace ac accumulator, expansion device and condenser too or can I just replace the compressor. Thanks
  12. I need some advice.. I own '92 LS400 and I LOVE IT but I'm having some issues with AC. At the end of last summer my AC stopped and I recharged it but it leaked out in two days and i didn't want to look into it cause it was the end of summer. Well I took it in this year and they couldn't find a leak by doing pressure test so I decided to recharge it and put a die in to see where the leak is. My AC was gone in two days again but I cant see the leak anywhere. Now I also have a problem with a interior light it doesn't come on every time I open drivers side door, and also my headlights used to turn off when I shut off the car and open the door but now that is not happening anymore. I also noticed that my AC button on a dash board flashes all the time and there is cold air when it's on but as soon as it starts flushing it's gone. So before I replace AC compressor like I was advised to I would like to know if maybe I just have a electrical problem. HELP PLEASE :cries:
