  1. I have brand new LCD's for your GS with install instructions if your interested. Dcfish - I have the same problem with my LCD of my '99 GS300. Can you please provide me with a price as well? Thanks!
  2. I have exactly the same problem with my '99 GS300. Did anybody have any luck with removing the covers and adding lubrication? If so, what exactly did you lubricate? Appreciate any thoughts you may have. Robert
  3. Unfortunately I had a similar experience. The tape was not a solution for me either. I noticed that when I open or close the sunroof cover briskly the rattle is gone for sometime. I removed the side covers covering the shorter rails but am not sure whether this had any beneficial effect. Quite frankly I am highly surprised and disappointed that a luxury car manufacturer which prides itself on quality can get away with this major design flaw. I wonder whether there are any lawsuits filed based on this complaint.
  4. Thanks for posting. This is interesting. B) I noticed that in my 99 GS300 some of the rattle comes from the moonroof cover. When I push it all the way back the sounds disappear. Which makes me wonder whether you did anything with the cover? Thanks!
  5. I tried the 3M tape fix but still have the rattle :cries: I am now thinking of removing the black flimsy trim on the moonroof. Someone mentioned that they simply pull off. Since they are so flimsy, is there any trick to this? Any insights are very much appreciated. (99 GS300) ←
  6. Hi there - I have a problem my mechanic cannot figure out. At lower speeds, while turning I hear a clunking noise from the left front around the wheel area. Especially when I turn into the garage which has a 1 inch ledge I hear this popping sound. When I drive on a parking lot going left and right I tend to hear the sound frequently. First take of the mechanic was to replace my ball joints which I did. This did not solve the problem. As soon as I left the shop I heard the popping sound. I went back and they could not figure it out. They don't see anything suspicious ............ but suspect the lower bushings, bar chuckles?, strutts. Did anyone encounter this? Any recommendations are very much appreciated!
  7. Thanks a lot! I'll let you know the outcome. ← Hi GuyTelefunken - Just came from under my car. I believe I found the speed sensor cable but had a hard time following the cable from the the wheel to the harness as it disappeared through protection shields. Is there another way to find the connector connecting to the hardness besides removing the shelds? If you have another schematic indicating where this is, that would be great. Thanks again!
  8. Thanks a lot! I'll let you know the outcome.
  9. Thanks! I'll check with the 'mechanic'. Or is this something easy for me to check out. Do you know where I can find a schematic of where this speedsensor is? Thanks again.
  10. Hi there - After I had my front ball joints replaced on my 99 GS300 the VSC ABS and VSC off dashboard alarms / lights went on. According to the shop code reader this is due to a defect speed sensor and has nothing to do with the ball joint replacement. I wonder....especially since the alarms were not there before replacing the ball joints and appeared immediately after replacement. Any insights are welcome. THANKS!
  11. I've got the same problem and also suspect the rattling to come from under those black cover strips. Was it easy to pull them off? Did you find the problem or did you end up using the velvet tape? Thanks, Robert
  12. It's the outside metal panel just above the front wheel on the steering side. Not sure when it started. Have no issues with brakes that I am aware of. No Noises. No work has been done recently. Indeed, it makes sense to suspect the brakes as this is right above the brake. I did not notice a higher temp on the other side. The other day I walked around a parking lot with several GS300 cars and the majority had a elevated temp on that spot??
  13. I've got a strange one and am not sure whether it is a problem. The front side panel around the wheel on the driver's side really gets hot, even after a short / 10 min ride. As soon as I noticed it I checked some other GS300's and noticed some temperature increase in the same location. Does anybody know what's going on? Thanks!
  14. So which one did it.... the timing belt or the underdrive pulley?
  15. I could not find anything on Lexus recalls on the web. Any suggestions on where to find recall info? Thanks!
