  1. I just finished installing a Jensen Sirius Satellite radio in my 2002 GS300.

I did not use either a FM modulator or a cassette adapter which are the usual ways of adding a sat radio to an existing (non-sat ready) audio system. Instead, I broke into the wiring harness at the audio amplifier input and installed a new sat radio input. The audio amp input is now switched between AM/FM and sat radio by a relay. The relay is actvated whenever the sat radio is switched on. All the audio controls (treble, bass, balance, etc.) work just as in the AM/FM mode. I used blocking capacitors in the sat radio radio output because the factory AM/FM output is differential but the sat radio output is low side ground.

Is a that worth it? Probably not but I am a nitpicker and the sound is better than the cassette adaptor I used temporarily.

I don't recommend this approach unless you have some facility for electronics.

I live in the remote mountains of west, were there is only one daytime radio station available, and it play country or religon. The Sirius is great, a good selection of music and no commercials.

If any one is interested in the details. Just ask.

Wow! What a great idea. Could you post some more detailed information. Color codes, products used. etc...

  2. Thanks for the web site! This sucks! No way am I using AT&T Wireless. Their service sucks in thr NYC area as compared to verizon. So does this mean I cna not use the Bluetooth wireless feature in my new car without going with AT&T??? It was one of the main reasons why I got the Nav systems. Don't get me wrong, I love the Nav and the Levinson stereo, BUT, I would really have loved it if I could get a phone from verizon that worked!

Do you think (or does anyone know) if Verizon will come out with a phone that interfaces with Bluetooth and the Lexus??? I would imagine they plan to offer this sometime soon since its becoming more popular... Thanks again for your advice. How do you like the phone?

You need to find a bluetooth phone that supports Verizon's air interface (wireless technology) which is almost certainly CDMA. If you find a phone that is both CDMA and Bluetooth you will be golden. One more thing you may want to check with Verizon and make sure they can update PRL's (Preferred Roaming List) in the phone you choose. PRL's control what carrier you roam on for example when you travel to Chicago Verizon has a preferred roaming partner which gives them a cheap rate which may be the A or B carrier or a PCS carrier. If you don't roam on the right preferred carrier you may be hit with huge ($3 a day and $.99) per day and minute charges. Good luck

  3. I found the adjustments on my 98GS400 HID. If you look down on the headlight you will see a bubble level for the vertical adjustment of the main beam. It is adjusted by the silver (on mine) 8mm bolt behind the main beam. The high beam adjustment is also a 8mm bolt behind the lamp housing but in front of the radiator. I believe the horizontal adjustment is the 8mm bolt (accessed from the rear) between the two lamps. I adjusted the vertical on mine to zero the bubble and mine are much better now. Good luck!!!

  4. My dealer replaced one of the headlights due to flood damage. The new one is obviously misaligned. This whole service experience with Westside Lexus Houston has been so disappointing that I was going to adjust it myself. The adjustment is probably in the servo controls. I don't see any kind of mechanical adjustment. I guess I'll go back to the dealer once again. This time I think I'll just see the service manager.

Keep us posted. If I can't adjust them myself I guess I'll have to pay to have it done. THANKS!
