  1. I have a '93 with the Nakamichi system. Amazing sound... especially after finding out that 3 door speaker were not working. Should sound like a sound studio after I replace them.

There was previous post by pwqtang and Jim Walker(lost, I presume) on replacing the speakers. I hope they read this post and give us an idea what brand and model they found that works and fits.

    :)

  2. G,

Let me know if you need some info and pictures (I found a very helpful web site) on how to remove the wood trim and the panels so you can access and remove the climate control and radio unit. If you can take the radio out maybe you can figure out how to take it apart and get the bulbs replaced.

    :)

  3. Okay. I did a search and did not find any previous topics on "remote" or "keyless" so I will start a new one.

When I got my '93 LS400 it came with only one key with the integrated chip. It works and it looks like this:

I can easily get a spare key made by a local locksmith but I would need advise on what to do with getting another remote unit. Would the good people of this forum please advise me on what they might do in a situation like this?

    1. Buy this pair at $331 and have it programmed by the local Lexus dealer.

    2. Buy this other "1993 remote" from ebay and hope that it works.

    3. Get an aftermarket alarm/remote keyless entry system.

    Thanks.

  4. "... Next time, DO NOT remove your instrument cluster without disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery first and then waiting 90 seconds at least. "

    Curt

    Thank you!

Again, this forum saved me a bunch.

I am also having problems with my instrument cluster. The fuel gauge is not accurate and the speedometer and tachmeter does not work all the time. Getting myself psyched up to remove the panel and boards to replace the 3 capacitors mentioned in another thread (probably lost by now).
