I am looking to purchase a 1995 Lexus ES300 to replace my current 1997 Nissan Maxima. I am considering one that is for sale (82,000 miles - $7,500).
My questions are as follows:
1. How reliable are the timing belts on these vehicles? Have any of you had a timing belt go on one of these? My vehicle has a timing chain.
2. The Lexus has 188 HP. How fast are these vehicles. Are they quick to get up and go?
3. Is the stereo in the vehicle a good sounding stereo?
4. Are there any common problems that crop up with these vehicles that I should know before I buy one?
5. If you were to convince me to get rid of my Maxima (130,000 miles) and purchase this Lexus, what would you say?
I appreciate any feedback. It will be hard for me to part with my Maxima, especially because of its reliability. However, the reason I am looking at the Lexus is because it too is very reliable.
