  1. My wife has a 2000 300 RX that we bought used from a private party. It has about 76000 miles and recently it makes a whirring noise when she starts up in the mornings. It goes away after the car warms up. A second probably unrelated problem, is that the car has stalled three times recently. . . any ideas on repairs would be helpful. I'm not knowledgeable regarding repairs, and don't want to get taken to the cleaners. Thanks
  2. Remove the dress plate by simply prying it loose and off. Then compress the high mounted brake light assembly toward the front of the RX to snap it out and off. Now replace the bulb and reverse the procedure. Is the "dress plate" the black covering for the area that covers the light? It looks as though there is electrical going in to and out of that area. . .
  3. How do you change the bulb in the light at the top of the rear window and how difficult is it? We just purchased a used 2001 rx300, and it the rear light failure light is staying on. Upon inspection, it seems that is the light that isn't working. It doesn't seem necessary, as I believe it is an extra brake light, NO? Thanks pj
  4. Two days ago I purchased a 2001 RX 300 w/ 73,000 miles. I drove the vehicle twice and heard nothing but smoothness. The first time I drove it after obtaining title, a noise appeared when driving over rough patches of roadway. Not necessarily bumpy road, just older pavement as opposed to freeway driving. It is a vibration sound coming from the rear of the car. I noticed the rear light failure indicator on the second day, and the antenna will not fully lower. Hopefully, these are minor fixes and I didn't buy a lemon. The 60,000 mile service was performed at 70,000 miles. The only recommendations were front brakes which were replaced, and tires. So I'm hoping this noise is due to the tires. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
