  1. Check with Lexus, there was a TSB on 06-07 IS due to heavy break dust. They replaced mine for free.
  2. CJ, If you only replaced your pads, consider having your rotors turned. The description of your problem is consistent with a "hot spot" on your rotor. Cam
  3. What year is your Is? Do you have Nav? Are you handy? Do you like XM or Siruis? I installed my XM on my 07 in about 2 hours with instructions from either this forum or another. It was easy. I had the fin so it was seamless. I think most could probably do it.
  4. Ok, I don't feel to much like an idiot.... Thanks...
  5. Is there a link the someone would be able to provide me so I can get caught up on the TSB's? Thanks....C
  6. Update...03/01/08 We installed the Lexus XM system yesterday. The part number for the receiver was changed, (newer part) and it works perfectly! Thank alot...Cami
  7. This is perfect! Thanks so much for taking your time. I'm going with the Lexus parts. The integration appears seamless/ C
  8. Sorry I'm not clear. I'm trying to compare the Lexus XM package with Vaistech unit. I had the later mentioned in my GX since the Sat option was not an option as it is on the IS350. I thought by now (07 models) it would be built in. The Vaistech mounted in series with the head unit, it was a job to install. Your reply sends me in a general direction in that the OEM unit may be more simple to install... Thanks..
  9. I searched.... I stepped up to a gen 5 navi (had a 04 GX) on my 07 IS 350 and I though I would be able to press sat and call XM to activate my account. Not so... On my GX, I installed the SoundLinq SLX and had XM that way. Can someone tell me what's the better way, dealer (how much?) or SoundLinq SLX again. Will the Shark Fin serve as the antenna or do I need the XM unit? Thanks alot...
  10. Thanks for the post. I used this to replace my GX470 drivers mirror. The only differences are: 1. Lift the window control unit out and unplug 2. Remove the gold screw behind window control unit 3. Follow the remaining removal instructions ***Don't forget to reprogram the window auto up and auto down feature*** Start car, put drivers window all the way up, release window switch. Pull up on switch and hold it for about 10 seconds then release. It should now be auto once again.
  11. I gather by this that I/we must have the head phone plugged in to activate the system. I'm going now to the garage to give it a try....I'll report back soon...C Nope, that didn't work. I guess off to the dealer... :(

  13. I can't for the live of me figure out the rear audio system. Yes, I've read the manual, I simply can't get it to come on. What are the capabilities of the system? How does it work? BTW, I don't have DVD, just sound with a remote. Thanks...Cami
  14. Ooooo thanks "G" man. You would be surprised how many Lexus employees didn't know the answer to this question. C
  15. I previously had a '01, and an '04 RX with HID. I just purchased a '04 GX (all with navi) and I can't tell if the vehicle has HID head lights. The RX seemed very bright and appeared to take a moment to "warm up" if you will. My GX was stolen from the port on arrival (back in '04) and I'm wondering these head lights were stolen and replaced with standard bulbs. Am I off my rocker or is there away to tell what I have and what I should have? Thanks...Cami
