  1. I hate the damn thing too. More of a nag than my ex-mother-in-law, and that's saying something. The dealer says it can't be disabled. I hope he's wrong. mmg
  2. FYI Colgan is finally offering a two piece bra for SC 430 2006-7. Just ordered it. More when it comes. mmg
  3. I know there is after market products which are offered with appropriate paint colors. Thanks John I use these things called *Door Defenders* and they're quite good. http://www.doordefender.com/home.html The one caveat is that you must make sure they're free of grit, and that the surface you apply them to is equally free of grit. And do NOT, I repeat, do NOT move them once in place or you can scratch your paint. That said, I won't leave home without them. mmg
  4. In the holy names of Jesus, Mary, and G.I. Joseph, can *anybody* tell me with certainty if there is any significant difference between the front ends of the 2005 and 2006 SC 430s that would preclude using a 2005 *FRONT PROTECTIVE DEVICE* (neither jock nor bra) on a 2006? And would the two of you stop it and get a room already? mmg
  5. I haven't been able to find a protective bra for my 2006 SC 430. Colgan, for example, makes them for only up to the 2005 model. Does anyone know if there is any difference at all between the 2005 and 2006 front ends? Thanks in advance. Michael
  6. I'm afraid this post is a bit misleading. I have the LGVX8100, and while you can manually tap in all the phone numbers you wish, you cannot upload your entire phone book. It took me three hours (and a seriously sore finger) to 'program' my entrie phone book into the car. Further, while the phone is supposed to connect at up to 20 feet away, it still mysteriously disconnects every so often at six inches away, and once disconnected, will not reconnect unless you turn off the car and restart it. Once again, then, if you're thinking of Verizon, caveat emptor. Or, put simply, don't say I didn't warn you :cries: mmg btw I just checked the url the poster supplied, and it very clearly states that you cannot upload your phonebook with his phone either.
  7. I have a Verizon wireless phone, and it's a royal pain to integrate with the SC's bluetooth. While it does 'work', you can't upload your phone book, and you have to enter every single number manually. Too, for reasons known only to the digital demons that roam the cyber-ether, despite my Verizon phone being less than two feet away from the display screen (nestled in the cup holder) the thing disconnects repeatedly, and will not reconnect until I restart the car. Put simply, from my experience, if you plan to use hands-free a good deal of the time to make a good deal of your calls, Verizon is a bad deal indeed. mmg
