  1. If you don't want to pop for the V1 an option would be one of Beltronics models, either an RX 65 from a specialty store or the general market 995 which are significantly less expensive but still should do the job, just without the arrows. Finally, if you're really on a budget a Bel 795 can be had for as little as around $50 and has had good reviews. In fact, I have one as a backup in case my primary fails.

  2. Hey guys,

I took my car to Lexus today because the car was drifting to the right and my tires were almost gone ( I only have 7800 miles on the car ) and the middle tread was alright but the sidewalls were totally worn away. So anyway, I took it in today and they said they are going to give me four new tires! They said the tires were worn do to "aggressive driving" but they are going to replace them anyways! Just thought I would share.... :D

The idea came to me to take it to the dealer because while I was at Autocross another IS driver told me that his car pulled to the right and he took it to the dealer and they replaced his tires because they found a defect in them which made the car pull to one side. So, if any of you have this problem take it back to the dealer.

I guess some people just live right or they have the right dealer. Were the tires gone cuz of the last 6 auto :whistles: X's you participated in?

  3. I have the standard 18inch summer tires on my is 250 rwd right now and was thinking of getting some winter or all season tires. I live in Seattle so am more concerned about wet pavement than snow (but i do live near a hilly area) so do you guys think I can get by with just changing my 2 rear tires to all-season or winter and leave the front tires stock? Or is it better if I change all 4 tires?

Any recommendations on which brand/model to get?

    Thanks

Change all four. Two might work but won't be optimum. You've got a premium car so spend the money, just wisely.

Tirerack has Avon Tech 550 AS tires at a reasonable price that should do the trick for your intended use. Treadwear is 360AA for both and they have high ratings. Prices are $115/134 each. No, I don't sell the tires.

  4. The IS 250 is a great car! True, it's not that quick but that's not the point. It's good looking, gets good gas mileage and drives fairly well. The understeer is built in with the larger rear tires so an inexperienced driver will run less chance of overdoing it.

If you are really hardcore, go out and get an Evo or STI or Z4M coupe and then mod the heck out of it. Any one of those should smoke an IS 350 in both acceleration and handling. Lexus is about style and comfort. :chairshot:
