  1. Sounds interesting . . . not quite sure how this is done from your description. Can you get into more detail? Did you mean that your mechanic removed the visor and opened the material on the visor (where the visor post goes through) and tapped into the post with a screw to make the fit more snug? I can't imagine how this is done. Do you think this is something that an auto upolstery shop can do? Maybe a shop that fixes/replaces headliners? Your thougbts and assistance? Thanks.
  2. Thanks - I'll be on the lookout for it - ebay and maybe craig's list. Anyone know how to remove the vents?
  3. Ok, Ok this is the last one for today. My A/C vent louvers have grown brittle due to years of parking in the sun. A few of the louvers on the center and passenger side vents have broken and now longer are adjustable. I'm thinking of removing the louver assemblies and attempting to "fix" them. Has anyone ever tried to do this? Is so, can you shed some light on the situation for me? Else, is there anywhere other than OEM that I can get replacements?
  4. It's me again. I seem to have this insatiable urge to "fix" all the little broken stuff on my 96 ES300. My driver side sun visor is sagging - doesn't return fully to the locked closed position. Anyone got any idea how to fix this? I'm kinda tall and this is really starting to bug me. I'm hoping that there's a way around purchasing a new visor.
  5. I'm finally going to repaint my 96 ES300 after 180k miles. I'm changing the paint scheme from the original pearl white/bronze two-tone to a straight white/dark silver and would like to replate my emblems to a gunmetal type finish. They presently are gold plated but badly faded due to years of parking in the sun and exposure to elements. Anyone have any suggestions on how or where I can get this done? Any kits, shorcuts or alternatives? The painting will happen within a week and I guess I can get the emblems done later but would sure like to have them ready to mount when the paint is done. Shout out to all you Lexus gurus - I need some kokua (that's "assistance" or "help" in Hawaiian). I could sure use some guidance.
  6. I am soooo soooory. As you can see, I'm really a newbie. I thank you very much for your assistance and will surely be more knowledgable next time. This forum is great. I'll be returning for sure. Mahalo (Thank You) from Hawaii!
  7. I hope you ES veterans out there don't find this too elementary but I need some general direction on how to replace the rear left turn signal light bulb on my 96 ES300. I've replaced head light bulbs before but this looks totally different. Do I remove the entire left rear assembly to change the bulb or am I not seeing something really simple? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
  8. :P Mahalo (that's "Thanks" to all you guys from the "Big Island" of the mainland US) - I'll be on the lookout for that Novus stuff. But, just in case I can't find it (we don't have Pep Boys in Hawai'i) via the retail route, is there a place online that I can buy all this great detail stuff I'm reading about? The newbie wants to know! Aloha.
  9. <_< Okay, let's enter the fray. Unfortunately, I park my '96 ES 300 in the sun all day. Could you detail veterans tell a newbie if this Nevus (did I spell that correctly?) product will also remove the hazing that I'm getting on the outside of my headlight lenses? What causes this stuff anyway? Is there anything I can do to prevent it? I'm trying to keep up with the detailing and this seems to be the only constantly recurring problem I've been having.
