  1. I just purchased a set of winter tires and OEM wheels for my 2006 SC430. Where can I purchase a second second set of tire pressure sensors for the tires? Do they have to be purchased from Lexus or can they be purchased from a third party and for how much? Do I need anything in addition to the tires, wheels, and tire pressure sensors? I just purchased the SC430 a couple of months ago and know very little about tire pressure sensors and RFT's in general. Thanks. Randy C

I just went through this process. It is a pain. You need to buy them from lexus, they are different from other sensors that lexus uses on other models. You also need a sensor mounting kit which is roughly $30. I got a good deal on them from some dealership in Texas (Sewell I believe), it was roughly $400 for the set, saved me about $160 from the local dealership. I had the lexus dealer install the pressure sensors and mount the tires (nobody here seemed to know how or if they could be programmed by anybody other than a Lexus dealer), but I have to think that it is a fairly simple process.

  2. :blushing: I appreciate everyone's input thus far, however, I would still like to know if there is anyone out there who has personally tried this item on any vehicle. I understand each of the stated opinions so far, but I've heard the oposite opinions from others as well that the theory behind the Tornado makes sense (not to say one or the other opinion is right.) I know that this item has a 30 day like it or return it money back guarantee, and I would try it myself, but the closest "As seen on TV" store is an hour and a half away from me. Normally I would'nt care so much about an item such as this, but if it could actually do what it boasts and increase your gas milage, in short order it could pay for itself, not to mention any additional horse power (that is of course if it actually works.)

It is junk. Car and Driver tested it on a BMW awhile back and it did, nothing. Waste of money.

  3. I am looking to buy an extra set of rims for snow tires for our '06 SC430. Are all the Lexus tire pressure sensors the same, or do they vary by model? Can I use two sets of these sensors with the car as I will have one set for summer and one set for winter. Can anyone recommend where to buy them or know how much they cost?

Alright, not much experience with this on here I guess. I found out from a guy on ebay that they are different and now have part numbers. Funny thing is, each corner has its own part number and wonder what happens when rotating tires? What do I need to do to have the second set of pressure sensors linked up to the car? Does the stealer have to do this, or is it something I can do myself?
