  1. Wow, here in UK we change Oil every 10,000 miles, both for RX-300 and Ford Explorer. We have no extreme temperatures. Lowest say 20 F and highest 80 F with mean average 60 F. Oil is meant to have been improved over the years. My RX-300 is a Japanese Import and the car is covered in Japanese under the bonnet (hood) and it says 10,000 kilometres which is 6,250 miles. So 7,500 sounds OK, 5,000 a bit paranoid? Best of Luck Nick
  2. Search on this forum using words "replacement keys" and you will find a method to reprogram both the keyless entry system and/or to add a new key. Its fussy, but it works. Takes about 5 minutes, but you may need 4 or 5 goes to get to work as its a procedure which involves doing EXACTLY what it says quite fast.
  3. Two thoughts. 1. If you know what you want and it will fit try an Auto Breakers. 2. In my experience most ICE Front ends are OK, its the Amps and speakers that sound poor. Any decent Auto electrician should be able to tap into the existing ICE system and attach your chosen Amp and Speaker Combo's. There's tons of room in an Rx300 to hide stuff, like the woofer under passenger seat. Best of luck Nick
  4. I must stop talking to myself!! Things start to become clear. In Japan and UK the keyless entry system uses a master key that has just one button. So the instructions passed by rx-300 bv to reprogram keys only partially work. Reading the instructions you will see that confirmation and prohibition do NOT require "the lock and unlock buttons to pressed together to 1.5 seconds" - which would be hard for us guys with keyless entry systems with just 1 button!! Our button is like a flip flop. Press it and the locks change from whatever state they were to the opposite. So I have been able to remove the stolen key's ability to unlock my rx300 by using prohibition. It just would be nice to know how to get my new keyless entry key into the ECU. So any ideas on the change for us guys? Thanks Nick
  5. Is there any way to program a new master key into the ECU without the separate 2 button transmitters for the ECU? I can confirm and prohibit, but I think I need the separate transmitters to program the ECU? Thanks Nick
  6. Further to my own posting, I find that I can get as far as the confirmation stage. But I do NOT have the separate >>>Remote (key) Transmitter PROGRAMMING >>>NOTE: The remote keyless entry system is equipped with 2 >>>transmitters, having 2 unique vehicle access codes programmed >>>into the wireless door lock ECU. Is there any way I can get any further than confirmation stage without the separate keyless entry transmitters? Please help!!! Nick
  7. Can the operations suggested above be used on a Toyota Harrier 3.0 1999 RHD Japanese Import into UK? Thanks for any help Nick
