I've found that when clicking on the PWR button it adds responsiveness and a faster down shift when you are in auto mode. I do believe it allows for more than just being able to rev higher and down shift faster. I notice a big difference between all three modes.

Are your intakes C.A.R.B. certified? I have one on my Honda and it's legal.

I'm using Nero burn software for my stuff. I can add track titles in.

Is the lack of power going from the 350 to the 250 pretty drastic?

I know some of you don't do it at the dealer but I was told that if there is a problem later and the service was not done with Lexus I would have a chance for the warranty to void so I did not take a chance.
If you have the warranty paper work, the garage you are getting your car serviced at is supposed to call and confirm the warranty of your vehicle. You can get your car serviced anywhere. I don't know why they would tell you that.

HA!! At least I got to watch some college football while I was waiting.

I'm a proud new owner of an 06 Lexus IS 350. It's got the factory ground effects and aftermarket MOMO wheels. It's going in for window tint tomorrow.
You can see more pix here:

Shamless plug for your website. :P
Very nice ride.

I'm wishing I could here one installed first. I'll have to hope to get lucky and catch one at the Lexus dealer.

Thats odd. It might be a software issue. To bad we can't turn this into a IT forum........hehe

Your trip sounds like the makings of a great commercial.......I'll have my people call your people and we'll make it happen........... :D

I had the dealer do the initial financing for me. After I took possession of the car I paid down half the principle and then took the balance and refinanced the car loan at my local credit union.

When I play CD's not CD title or track title shows up. Can anyone help with this. Thanks
'06 IS250
It seems that some CD's have the title and track titles encoded and some don't. I find that only about a third of the CD's I've tried actually show a title.
That sounds odd but thanks for the info.
Take your CD and burn a copy. The majority of the CD burning software out on the market will ask if you want to search for artist track and title information through an online data-base. Say yes to this function and your CD writer should add all of the information to the CD. If that doesn't work, you should also be able to add track information manually through your CD creation process.

My local Lexus dealer now has available the new HKS exhaust for the IS. It is veeeeerrrryyyy nice! I was told gains are between 12 and 18 HP. The service rep said it lowers the exhaust tone to sound more beefy and definitely frees up the breathing. The catalytic converter isn't touched so the dual exhaust is from the resonator back. I am concerned about the increase in cabin noise, so I'm not sure if the HP gain will be worth the increase in noise. I have the 350 so it's got plenty of pop already, but you can never have to much right?
Any feed back about after market exhaust is welcome!!! :D
If you don't want more cabin noise you probably won't like it.
I would get it if it sounds like the Nissan 350Z or the G35 coupe.
I was told it would be deeper in tone. I'm still debating.

My last car was a black Honda 2 door. Only two words................."Never Again".
I have a crystal white IS350. I've been much happier since. (do you think the car has something to do with it?)

Sorry for the acronyms i guess i should have explained the WOT first.
I have also noticed that if i'm example on 3rd gear at 3.5k rpm's and i floor the car, even on S mode, the car down*BLEEP*s on it's own, no big deal guys but man i just want to do the shifting when i put it on S. Bug what bugs me is that i floor it and it shifts near redline not when i shift it but this seems to happen only in certain gears, it's weird. This isn't a problem or anything i was just wondering if there is a pattern of shifting in S mode or something of that aspect. Thanks to all that have responded.
Do you put your Gear display up on your dash board? If you are stopped and you shift to S mode you'll see a series of white dots, usually 4 dots representing gears 1 to 4. These will be the auto shifted gears with 5 and 6 being manual. When you are stopped in S mode, shift down until all the dots are gone, you should then be in "full" manual.

Speaking of odd routes -
I travel from CT to Long Island and back on a regular basis.
The Nav actually shows the Ferry route between Bridgport and Port Jefferson but in the three months I've been using the Nav it has yet to recommend/use that route. Instead it takes I95 along the CT shore down through the Bronx and then out east on 495. And yes, I've made sure that the route preferences INCLUDE Ferries (in fact I've even tried using ONLY ferries), but it still refuses to use the ferry route. How can it definitely know that the ferry route is there, but not suggest using it when doing so provides THE most direct and shortest route?
Am I missing something ??
I'm not sure if I heard this somewhere before on an earlier report, but have you tried taking the ferry after calculating your route and seeing if the nav sys will recalculate when you detour? Even though its DVD based, can it learn?
I have 2 small ferries on my way to work...just like the previous post my NAV will never pick it to take me to work...but if I enter the destination as work and start to go towards the ferry it will pick it up and direct me to take it and even tell me that I am entering the Ferry. WEIRD!
I was going thru my nav menus tonight. It has a "record route" option. Take your route via the ferry and record your travels.
That might work out.

But I've seen the light :D I love the 6 second NAV hack, its a must, especially with a passenger. Funny thing is, I'm not just in love with the power, I'm in love with the turning radius too!! This car is incredible!!
Is this the 6 second hack that you used?
"In sequence
Press the Menu button on the dash.
Press the Volume button on the screen.
Press the upper left corner of the screen. (Where the speaker icon is located.)
Press the lower left corner of the screen.
Press the upper left corner of the screen again.
Press the lower left corner of the screen again.
On the screen that appears:
Press the Override button and hold it until you hear a beep. The Override letters turn black in color showing it is deselected.
Press the Back button to get back to the previous screen."
Thats the one. Anytime I have a passenger in my ride I make sure I do this. People just can't keep their hands off of the screen. I can't blame them............neither can I!!

There's a runflat version of Potenza Re050 but it's not the one that comes on the IS.
Lexus is not single sourcing tires, so if they are using Dunlop and Bridgestone, you'll get whatever was online at the time your car got its tires.
They're round, they're black, and they stick to the road like glue. Personally, I'm not terrbily picky about whether it's Dunlop or Bridgestone. But I do like the agressive looking sidewall on the Bridgestone 18's in the front - sort of a sharp line about 3/4 of an inch above the bead. Don't know if the Dunlops have that, but it looks cool after a wash and some Vinylex.
Interestingly, though, the salesman that we bought the car from made sure to note that the Bridgestone Potenza's on this car are made in Japan and have nothing to do with the exploding Bridgestone/Firestone tires made in the US. Not that I would be worried about that, but I did think it was funny that he specifically pointed it out.
That sharp line above the bead is a rim protector. Most performance tires are being designed like that now. The tire companies know how much people invest into their rims. It took me some time to get used to the rim line but now its a welcome sight.
I have the Dunlops and have no pulling issues. Is having too much tratction a valid complaint? ;)

I don't have any interior pics but it's black. I didn't like the cashmere because you end up with a three tone contrast in colors from the headliner, seats, and dash colors. The worst part for me is the dark upper dash and light lower dash.
The only thing I don't like about the black is that the carpet shows every little leaf, rock, or grass clipping particle. But it's not hard to clean up and I can live with that.
You can probably find some interior pics by browsing google images or cardomain. I've seen some interior shots but not with the matador red.
It is a gorgous color Bartkat!! My next Lexus will Matador Red or the White.... with Black or Cashmere..
I was wanting the black... and the Cashmere looked more like a white on the lexus web site... but when it came in...
I wish lex would offer a deeper/darker tanish red leather...
I know what you mean about the red leather. BMW has a red imola (spalding football red) interior that looks absolutely awesome in a white car. I almost bought a Beemer because of that interior.

yes it is a small world. glad u found yourself a decent salesman at irvine bmw let alone any bmw dealer. thats a rare occasion!
NO kidding!! My sales man was the only one that offered assistance. I walked up to the dealership with my head on a swivel already knowing what I wanted. I must have passed 4 or 5 other "sales man" before I was offered any help. I'm not saying they were prejudging me based on my appearance but......................................maybe they were!!! HAHAHA to bad for them.
Dash Board Creeking

Iv'e got a 2006 IS350 and have noticed that when traveling on a "not perfectly smooth" freeway, my dash starts to make creaking sounds like pastics that aren't secured tightly. It seems to be coming from right above my two front air vents in the center of the dash. It is very annoying.
Has anyone else experienced this? I know it's still under warranty but I am hesitant in taking it in for fear of making the problem worse. Can they even fix something like this?
Thanks.
