hey y'all...
my 99 lx470 is due for a new set of tires, and instead of replacing them with the standard P275/70R-16's, i thought i might go for something larger.
-what would be the main reasons for going to a larger tire (traction, appearance, clearance)?
-are there any reasons (safety, ride, etc) for sticking with the facotry size?
-what are some good options in a larger size?
thanks,
scott

good day... i just took delivery of a 1998 LX470 and am very impressed. however, on the drive home from the dealership i noticed some very distinct wind noise coming in from the passanger side... all the windows were completely raised and the doors shut tightly... is there a seal which commonly needs cleaning or replacement in these cars?
thanks for all the help,
scott

hey y'all...
just got some new tires for my LX... if any of you are looking to go a bit larger than the stock tires, i put on a set of Michelin LTX MS 285/75-R16's and they fit like a charm. no rubbing, even with the suspension lowered. the ride is quiet and smooth, though the speedo is off by about 5 mph at highway speeds.
i had the tires balanced using the hunter gsp machine and there is no vibration whatsoever... if you're looking for a little larger footprint, i highly recommend the Michelin LTX MS 285/75-R16's. i'll try and attach some pictures to this post if anyone care to see how they look.
