  1. I'm looking at 1992 SC400 to purchase. While the car overall seems to be in reasonable shape, the driver's side door is jammed shut and can't be opened from the inside or the outside. The owner doesn't want to pay money to get it fixed and I'm uncertain about how much it would cost to get it fixed since I can't see the source of the problem. The owner says something about her grandkids borrowing the car and somehow it got damaged. I can't see any outward signs of any damage to the door, so I'm at a loss to figure out the problem since I can't see any damage. I've read in the forum about door hinge problems and how they might be fixed, and I'm wondering if that isn't the source of the problem. Has anyone ever encountered this problem in their SC 300/400? What was the cause of the problem? Does anyone have any idea what it might cost to fix something like this? Does anyone know how an owner might fix this problem himself? I'm thinking about deducting at least $1,000 off the private party price for this because to me it's a huge unknown risk for me. Do you think that's reasonable amount? Thanks!
