  1. My AC didnot work when I started my car this morning. Mechanican told me that my compressor and dryer broke, no freon left. Asked for $990 total to replace the parts. I want to fill freon first by myself. Could anybody tell me how to do it, what is the pressure requirement of freon for 96 ES300? There are two valve of AC tube. One is low pressure valve, another one is high pressure valve, which one could I fill the freon in? Has anyone have some problems before? Thanks.
  2. I told toyota dealer that my cat converter may cause the check engine light on as one suggested here, the mechanician told me there is speically error code for it if it doesnot work. My friend also told me the computer scanner not always correct.
  3. Just went to local toyota dealer. I told them the detail of my problem. They called me after two hours and told me car was ready. They charged me $80 for clear the code and told me my O2 sensor is ok. When I drove two miles, check engine light was back. Have to drive my car back and see what they will tell me tommorrow. Hope they can do a little serious check this time.
  4. Yes, the new O2 sensor is toyota OEM product.
  5. thanks, lexus3486. Autozone scaned my car, told me that my car bank1sensor2 has problem( the one I just got changed). There are 3 oxygen sensors. if the other two broke, it also should be detected by the scanner. but autozone just found the b1s2 has heat circuit problem. SO you thought the problem might be caused by other two oxygen sensors.
  6. the front one maybe bank 2 sensor 1. the bank 1 sensor 1 is in the hood close to you dashboard the bank 1 sensor 2 is connected to the pipe under chasis around your frist row seats.
  7. Mechanican changed the oxygen sensor (bank 1, sensor 2) for my 96 es300 two days ago, then I drove about 300 highway miles. when I reached my town, the light was on again. I went to autozone, the error code is 141. That means the new oxygen sensor has problem again. It is almost impossible, coz that one bought from the toyota dealer, wouldnot broke in one day. I am not sure whether there are other reasons to make the my checking light on. I went to firestone, they asked for $80 for using their computer to scan and get error codes. What will it cost normally if I want to fix this problem? I want to change that sensor by myself, but I really doubt that is not the sensor problem coz it is brand new sensor. Any ideas?
