  1. if you check your facts(post), i said my car had the worst trans fluid i had ever seen. very black and smelled like death. now it looks like wine and 0% death smell. that is why i change it every oil change. sc400 has an 8.2 liter capacity, drain and refile only drains about 1.6. so 1.6 mixed in too 8.2 is not going to do the job i needed done. anyway i know about all off that......... my question was about cleaning out my solenoids. not anything to do with transmission fluid. so if anyone can help with my solenoid question ..... that would be just great so i can clean or replace this weekend. please someone who has experience with this, help me with any info on solenoids?
  2. my car had the worst tran fluid i had ever seen when i got it. so i change the tran every time i do oil. i cleaned the filter, not replaced. and i only use t-vi on synthetic for me please. have you ever cleaned the soleniods in your 400
  3. OK i got error code 63 (#2 shift solenoid). OK now dealer wants 196.00 for a new one. if any body knows where i can get one for less please let me know. i read Rostra.com (in a post) has #1 and #2 solenoid for 125.00 or 150.00, so I'm calling in the morning(if any body wants it 1-800-782-3379) and we'll see how that goes. but of course no high hopes. when i cleaned my filter i saw them, solenoids, and i have an SC manual. my mane question is should i fork over the money(196.00 for just the 1) or will a good cleaning do the job? I read in a post it helped 2 people. cleaning-free.......new part-196.00 i know it's not that much, but free sounds a lot better thanks to all that help
  4. drain and fill transmission every other oil change is what i do. until i get a good red wine look
  5. thanks...........I thought I was just going crazy.
  6. ok still having the same problem, but check this out, I always just leave my head lights on, because they go off with the car. so i turned them off the other day just because, and BAM no more transmission problems. then i turn them back on and F#@* they come back. so need less to say i have been driving around with my head lights off. SOMEBODY please tell me what the hell is up with my car. O and i do have a break light out that i'm going to change today. Why does my car hates me?
  7. well the only time i hear it is when i'm in a drive through. when i'm right by the wall. then i can notice the ticking.
  8. ok i did a search on solenoid. and i saw it when i cleaned my transmission filter, and my understanding is there is a screan that i need to clean. Is that right? and thanks for the suggestion DCFISH. I will give it a try
  9. jzz30 do you think injector cleaner in the gas will help, if so what do you recommend, i have always used lucas.
  10. jzz30 i see you live in hawaii... my car was bought there. do you know if that has something to do with me not being able to register at lexus.com
  11. i know it has a cork gasket but lexus said you leave it, was that wrong?
  12. i get 21 mpg in town, and i have a K & N filter, and i keep my foot in it the whole time
  13. you can have dye put in and then they will use a blacklight to find a leak
