Ahh yes I had that problem in my 89 honda but its diff with the lexus when it turns off and you try and turn it back on it doesnt act like its trying to turn on by like making alittle noise it just looses power all together and wont turn back on most the time until i get under the hood and jiggle the battery some.

Ok my 95 SC300 has been a very good car except for the 2 problems it has had ok here it is... I will be driving down the road and it will just randomly shut down.... Now I can put it in neutral and turn it right back on most the time but not always but its just a pain and kinda unsafe if I was turning or stopping... Now the other problem I had was the car wouldnt always turn on... Now I found that there was a loose wire to the starter and now that works fine. But still the turning off problem is still there I took it to a shop but they couldnt get it to do it while it was there ... GO figure... haha but yeah also another thing it does it sometimes I will get into the car and it wont seem to have enough juice to turn on I will open the hood jiggle the battery some and it will turn right on now I change both the clamps to the Posotive and Negative terminals but still no luck it still sometime doesnt have enough juice and sometimes it looses the power all together becuse I am constantly having to set the clock and radio stations over and over.... Now I tried to use the Search link on the forums but it is beyond unhelpful so plz if anyone has any ideas as to what this could be pllzzz help out thanks.

I cut it of right before the mufflers on each side..... I know it was a stupid mistake but I did it and regret it now... But I love the sound but the problem is if ur sitting in the back seat you cannot hear what anyone is saying in the front and while ur doing any highway driving it gets to be old.. But I mean I was 16 and rushed it didnt help I had 3 other friends telling me to do it... But I wont Lie the sound is great, it sounds like a 350z or G35 I love it and no lights came on in the car because of it. I mean only problem is people always ask me why I dont have exhaust gets to be annoying, and I got pulled over one time and cop asked me where my exhaust was I just told him I was doing work on them and he didnt seem to mind with it ... Not sure if having no mufflers is legal or not so always though I got lucky.... But yeah forgot to say what mine is ... Its a 95 SC300 But yeah I Will try and get some sound clips tomorrow of it but I cant remember if my camera does sounds also. Ohh miss read the last post Idk about taking it of at the cats didnt try that but cutting it at the mufflers didnt cause and problems

Alright well thanks you, im gonna give it a try I think but when u say heavy guage is that like a type of negative wire you buy from auto store or just like Heavy guage steel that you can buy at Home Depot?

Do you have any links to show me how to do that? Im not sure what I would do.. The negative Cable from my batter goes somewhere under the engine is that the right cable? And if so is it a very difficult job?

Well yeah most likely it is right beside it, but the car still turned of randomley before I did all that. Maybe just not as bad only like 1 a week.

No I dont think so the fluid in the reservoir is still all the way 2 the top but I did just change my thermostat a few weeks ago and engine coolant got everwhere because I didint drain the lines first ... So the coolant might of got into some places...

Well wouldnt my battery go dead if it was my alternator? And if it was the alternator and my car died wouldnt I not be able to turn it back on?

Hello my car has a problem that I cant figure out. Well at first I noticed my lights would dim when I hit the brakes.. Ok not a Huge deal kinda annoying but i delt with it. But then my car started just turning of all together while I would be driving and this was really scary because I would loose most the brakes and have no more power steering while I would be driving... Well lately its gotten even worse I can drive not even a mile from my house and it will turn of 2 maybe 3 times. Now I finally realized I can turn it back one if I put it into neutral but sometimes that doesnt always work ill have to try turning it back on numerous times before it finally works.. Now it doesnt always turn completely of sometimes it will go till all the lights turn of and the radio stops then catch itself... I was looking at other people post that kinda had a simillar problem on here but there only happened when they turned of there A/C and people said it could be the throttle body could that be my problem?? But mine isnt just turning of when I turn of the A/C.... Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.. THANKSS
