  1. Sorry, Been busy... got them at www.autoanything.com, don't remember how much, you'll have to look it up, but they had free shipping at the time. Still couldn't be happier, all noises and shudders are gone, and still no brake dust ;) Tim
  2. I could have had the rotor turned I know but the car had been on the coast with the PO and the rotors were somewhat rusty and I figured if I had to remove them then now would be the time to replace them. Anyway I have had the DBA's on for about 500 miles now with no shimmying or shuddering, and am very happy with the braking abilities (slight improvement from stock?) and they look a lot better than the old rusty ones, and have no brake dust problems. Here are a couple of pics and the car has not been washed since prior to the whole brake job, to show that the brake dust was not a problem for me with the DBA rotors and stock pads. Tim
  3. Well, the DBA's have been on for a couple of days now and look good, the brake shudder is gone :D and no brake dust on the rims so far :) . Still breaking them in and haven't done much driving yet but they seem to brake even and strong. The car will get about 400 miles on it this weekend, I'll try and snap some pictures after that. Tim
  4. ive bought aftermarket rotors and wasnt too happy. at the time i had chrome wheels that were designed to show off your brakes and rotors cause they were pretty open unfortunately the cool rotors i had bought was bad quality and dusted the wheels tooooo much. infact in a matter of a day. the front wheels were a mess and almost was the back. so thats a no on aftermarket rotors I have always thought it to be the pads that created the dust. Anyway I have ordered a set of the DBA' rotors front and rear, I'll post my results and maybe some pics after I've had them on for a bit. Tim
  5. So you think the rotors may be a little warped? Any recommendations on aftermarket rotors? I am running DBA rotors w/factory pads on my Land Rover Disco and I am happy with those, seem to be an improvement over stock. I have been running the EBC rotors w/ greenstuff pads on my Scion xB's and haven't noticed much difference from stock. Thanks, Tim
  6. I just changed the pads front and rear on my '02 GS430 Super Easy! The rotors looked good ( no grinding and smooth as hell) Now there is a shudder when braking at about 60mph. WTF? I used factory pads, but a friend who is a Lexus service advisor had told me that this would probably happen if I didn't turn the rotors. Why would Lexus make it so easy to change the pads if you have to turn the rotors every time? Has anyone else experienced this? I am thinking about just getting some aftermarket rotors, any recomendations? Thanks, Tim
  7. When you turn on the stereo it will come on at the last volume level and there is nothing you can do to change the volume. All other controls work normal. Sometimes if you turn the car off and on again it will correct itself. Is the touchscreen part of the radio or is it a seperate unit? I ask because the dealer replaced my touchscreen about a year ago. Thanks Tim
  8. I have the Mark Levinson stereo in my '02 GS430. I am having an intermittent problem with my volume controls(both the knob on the unit and the steering wheel controls) The volume sticks in one position and stays there. Sometimes turning the car off and on will correct it and sometimes it wont. Anybody else experience this or have a solution? Thanks, Tim
  9. I'm looking at some 19" staggered rims for my '02 GS430, rims came off an is250 and the owner is stating that they will not clear the brakes on his GS350. They are Racing Hart C4's. rims are front 19x8.5 offset is 35 rear 19x9.5 offset is 30 tires are front 245/35/19 rear 275/30/19 Anybody got experience or advice on this? Thanks, Tim
  10. Yes, for business, Good moving bilboards and already paying for themselves in gas money saved :D
  11. Probably still under warranty, you wont know until you try... Tim
  12. :D Just an update. The car is definitely out of warranty, but my service rep is really cool with me and is having Lexus fix it out of goodwill! They had recently replaced a key out of goodwill also! I can't say enough how glad I am that I bought this car. The dealership service experiences have always been stellar and included decent loaner cars, I didn't even buy the car from a lexus dealer... I also have an '04 Land Rover Discovery, several Ford Trucks and 3 Scion XB's. The Scions have yet to go in for service but no other dealer has even come close to the service quality I have recieved from Lexus. For this type of vehicle I think I am sold on Lexus for life! Tim
  13. Thanks for the reply's , so you guys think this unit is toast huh? Should I expect it to get worse? everything still works, it's just like a thin blue line running through the displays. Thanks
  14. Am friendly with the dealer, but not under warranty. Only about 43,000 miles on the car. Any way to reset the system? Thanks, Tim
  15. My Mark Levinson Nav screen on the '02 GS 430 may be going out :cries: . When you start the car, and on every screen there is a line going through the display about a 1/3 of the way down, it seems to be about 2 pixels thick, all the way across the screen. Is there a way to reset the system and fix this? Any help would be appreciated. I am in the Palm Springs area and the car was parked in the garage for a long weekend of 110 plus degrees without any windows cracked, but that's normal for here. Also I did have an I-Pod interface hooked up to the stereo, but that was about 3 months ago. Thanks, Tim
