  1. The towing converter box is in the rear cargo area, passenger side, behind side trim panel. The part is shown in the parts catalog but there seems to be a bug since it's not identified in the catalog. It's just the picture but no part number or description attached to it. If the converter box is like the earlier RX330/350 models, there were two different boxes. One for vehicles with the towing option (TO) or without. If a hitch was installed on the RX without the TO option, the brake lights on the trailer would not work. The converter box needed to changed in order for the brake lights to work.

Unfortunately, due to this catalog bug I can't tell if there is more than one box. I hope your RX came with the TO option.

  2. I doubt you can fix it permanently as the problem is probably the window glass itself. One the plastic tabs on the bottom of the glass may have come loose or broke off. That part unfortunately is not serviceable. Normally the window glass is replaced.

  3. Hi there,

The rear suspension on mg GX470 won't lower. What's the trick to get it to go back down? The front looks normal, but the rear doesn't.

Thanks in advance! BTW first post.

Welcome! The trick is have the dealership replace the rear height sensor(s). They're most likely corroded and stuck in the high position.

  4. Sorry if has been covered but I can't find an answer searching and the search function that only allows four characters minimum doesn't help, but I am looking for a replacement for the EGR temperature sensor as I am getting a code 71. I don't want to delete the EGR system due to emissions testing.

Does anyone know of a replacement part # or cross reference for the temp sensor?

    Thanks in advance.

    What year is your LS400?

  5. I just installed the XM radio kit for my 05 LS and it's up and running. My question is when you push "Text" it is supposed to display the name of the song, the year it was released and the artist name. The problem is only partial names come up if the song title/Artist has more then a few words in it. The nav/display screen is more than adaquate in size to display the entire messege. Is this the best it gets or am I missing something like a display setting change. Cant believe they would put in a nice 6 inch screen but only allow 2.5 inches of text. Any ideas?

The display will only show ten characters and no scrolling text. That information is actually in the owners navigation manual.

  6. Getting so frustrated with this and looking for some help.

I just got 2010 RX350 no Nav and trying to transfer contacts from my phones, I tried with iPhone and of course it doesn't support it, I tried with blackberry pearl 8120 and it only transfers the first contact in address book and then stops, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Transferring contacts from the iPhone is not possible as that profile is not enabled. For the 2010 RX the transfer has to be initiated from the vehicle. Essentially the vehicle pulls the contacts from the iPhone using the phonebook access protocol which the iPhone supports. It seems transferring contacts is easier on vehicles with nav. According to the owners manual, it looks like you initiate transfer either by voice command or the bluetooth selector knob if you don't have nav. So it is possible, but the owners manual is kind of confusing in it's process.

The manual says that the phone sends the contacts with phone book transfer. I see that I have to go to phonebook add entry, unless Im missing something ?

Or is there another command that can be used ?

You can use voice command "add entry" or use the tune-sel knob. Let's skip voice command and just use the sel knob. After "add entry" select "by phone" and then "confirm". Then it gets confusing as contact is then transferred but it isn't clear if you have to do anything on the phone to initiate or if it's automatic. I can't believe how poorly written the manual is written. For some stupid reason, if you transfer by voice command the contacts are referred to as phone numbers but if you transfer using the sel knob, your contacts are referred to as data. There's a third step that says select "next" to display data and select "confirm". Does this mean you can't transfer the phonebook only individual contacts?

Sorry I can't be more helpful but the manual is very vague.

  8. I have a 2010 RX350 and have a problem with the "bumper" separating from the body just below the headlight on the passenger side. I guess you would consider it still the bumper because it being all one piece. I can push it back in but it pops out. Anyone else have ths problem ??

    Thanks, Mike

Take it back to the dealership. There's a new bumper stay/bracket that fixes that issue.

  9. Hi all,

I'm in Canada. I took my car (2002 ES300) to Lexus dealer due to check engine light is on. They did some test, got the code P1135 and need front A/F sensor. They gave me the part number 89467-06020. I checked the part on line and this one doesn't exist. The part number that I found is 89467-33050. Does anyone know if they have the different part no. for U.S. and Canada? And does this A/F sensor has anything to do with Emission test fail?

    I appreciate all comments/helps. Thanks a lot!!

I don't know if there is a difference between US and Canada, but I can tell you that bank 1 is not the front. Bank 1 is in the rear toward the firewall.

  10. I have a '01 ES300 (u140E trans) with an ongoing P0765 transmission shift solenoid "D" malfunction code. The car will not go into overdrive. So far I have dropped the pan and inspected for metal shavings (none), pulled out the valve body and cleaned it out as well as the solenoids. Put it all back together and it still isn't working. My next step is to replace the solenoid. Can someone tell me which solenoid in this diagram is the "D" one so I order the right part? Thanks!

    35230 is shift solenoid D.

  11. Got the G1 a year ago, but haven't figured out how to transfer the phone book from the phone to my car via BT. Anybody figure this out yet?

Unfortunately the Bluetooth stack in Android does not support opp so you can't transfer contacts.

Android 2.0 will support Bluetooth 2.1 which has opp, but unfortunately the Verizon Droid is the only phone that supports Android 2.0.
