Toyota to recall 57,000 Lexus cars globally TOKYO (Dow Jones/AP) _ Toyota Motor Corp. said -- TOKYO (Dow Jones/AP) -- Toyota Motor Corp. said Wednesday that it will recall about 57,000 vehicles from its upscale Lexus brand globally, due to faulty parts in the device that winds seat belts. The recall affects the Lexus GS and IS models sold in North America, Japan, Europe and other markets. Passengers may not be able to buckle up due to the faulty parts. Those vehicles were produced between July and December last year. I just purchased an '06 lexus gs300 rwd and wanted to know if the Perma plate warranty is necessary. While going thru some forums I heard mentions of a new standard for painting new cars. This new standard causes paint to chip easily. Also I'm in sunny south florida.
