  1. If you have the car in park with the e-brake on, press the disc button till it toggles to the dvd playing on the front screen. Once you have the dvd playing on the front screen, press anywhere on the screen (I think, or maybe in the lower left hand corner), and a bunch of buttons will appear on the screen...you can pretty much do anything from those buttons like stop, get to the menu of the dvd, pause, etc.... I did the dvd hack a while back so I can view a dvd up front while the car is driving, so I think the directions of the car in park and ebrake is correct to get the picture to the front nav screen. Hope this helps...Will Anyone have the answer here - I have the same question. It says on the DVD screen that you can use the front touch panel or something like that but I can't seem to do anything without the remote. Also - is there a way to watch a DVD on the front screen? Anyone out there? It seems like the only posts that get any response are the ones of people selling bootleg Nav discs. Any suggestions from anyone? is there a better place to get some feedback form others regarding their cars? thanks
  2. I don't have an answer for you, though I also have a 2001 with the Mark Levenson and no Nav - and if it were just a matter of buying the new equipment, I'd do it too!!! I'd try ClubLexus.com - you might have better luck!!! Will
  3. My fix to the problem was to take the Hella 4000's off and put in a smaller set of lights!!!! I figured the lights are so large that its probably !Removed! up the normal expected cooling of the engine.... Sorry for not being able to help! Will
  4. I acutally just did the same as you and purchased the HID lights kit for my 2001 LX470 right before the ban took effect (he was offering great prices!) I already have them installed so I think I can answer you questions! On the drivers side, I mounted the igniter on the side of the engine bay sorta by the side of the battery. I mounted the igniter behind the battery (there is a portion flat metal to mount it. For both sides, I mounted the igniter and ballast by just using their plastic ties and nothing more...everything stays perfectly!! One thing to note is that I had to enlarge the hole in the light for the H1 HID bulb to get in there properly...sorta a PITA because to do this you need to take the light housings out, to make sure you are filing the metal in the right places. Make sure you don't break anything when you take the lights out!!! The body work around the light is tough to release and is pretty delicate! Good luck!!! BTW - the lights are awesome and I've had no issues with too much glare! (or at least nobody is give me the finger or high beams!) Will
  5. I used to have a 97 Landcruiser before my LX470 and I had the same problem with the AC cutting out. The car has a switch to turn off the AC when the engine temp has reach some maximum point. Now with my car it happened because I mounted bigass Hella 4000's and it blocked the air going into the front grill. Once I took them off, I had no problem. If you don't have anything obstructing the grill, then maybe its time to change your antifreeze or get your radiator checked out? It could just be that your cooling system just isn't good enough on the hot days, and thats what causes the AC to automatically switch itself off! P.S - You can't tell anything from the temp gauge in dash. Mine was also a little below the middle, and never moved - regardless if I had the Hella lights mounted or not!!! The dash always showed the same temp! Hope this helps, Will
