  1. Hello all, I am a brand new owner of a Lexus, or my wife is at least. Thus far I have been very impressed with the Lexus organization!

    We bought a 2006 IS250

My question is if there is any way that we can lock the car while the engine is running? We travel with our dog and when we stop to eat or shop we like to leave him in the car with the AC on. Thus far in all of my reading of the manual and talking to one service guy I have not come up with a way to achieve my goal. Does anyone know of any options I have or other ways around the problem? Could I find a computer wiz and reprogram anything? Any help will be appreciated. They probably didn't think about the 3 people in the world that are interested in leaving their Lexus parked with their precious dog inside and the car running for anyone to steal, BUT it surely helps with our travels!

    Thanks in advance

its just a dog. you know its ok to leave him at home right?

  2. I had mine installed last week, I've been w/ sirius for over a year and now im w/ XM, i like sirius a whole lot better. but i live in houston and theres a lot of trees in my area and a lot of roads and houses are under those tall trees. my xm tends to cut out in my neighborhood, that gets on my nerves b/c sirius never did that. i was bummed when they told me that IS350 is for XM only, i could've got sirius, but i did not want an external unit.

you didnt have to get xm. lexus will have the sirius unit available for the IS in june.

  3. Since most of the dealers here in TX will not have a decent inventory for 3 months or so they seem to all be charging list price which comes out to 33,900 for an auto IS250 with no options added and before tax, title and license.

Anyone know of a dealer that has cars in stock and is willing to sell it for under the list price? I'm looking for a silver IS250, auto, with no option packages. I am willing to drive to get it or have it shipped too.

I got my IS250 with auto, a spoiler and the prefered equipment package that includes a trunk mat, wheel locks and cargo net for 33500 out the door.

  4. What exactly are we getting when we order it through Lexus?

Is this a kit which comes with a color coded Antenna Cover, or is this a typical Sirius install?

If the stereo is already satellite ready, you can order a kit from just about anywhere ( I recommend Crutchfield)

It's just a signal receiver box, and a few wires to run.

If this is something that looks factory with color coded parts and stuff, it may be worth the wait, and price.

    Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere.

Those kits in crutchfield are brand specific. In other words, a Kenwood receiver box will only work with a Kenwood head unit. The same goes for Pioneer and so on and so forth. The kit from Lexus is a receiver that is installed behind the stock radio and is brand specific to the stock head unit.

  5. I ordered one today from lexus-parts.com today. 299.00

I tried to order from the same place last week. I got a call from a guy who works at Sewall Lexus, the dealer that runs the site. He told me that the Sirius units were all on backorder and there were 20 people ahead of me to get them. With that in mind, he told me not to expect the radio any time soon.
