  1. Hi VMF, I had read the prices list you had got for your timing belt service and all the parts you had replaced. You got some excellent prices. The prices for the Denso set was 99.00 plus shipping of $8.00. Denso is the only way to go. they are dated .numbered and bundled perfectly.

  2. Just fixed my LS400 this weekend, replaced the plug wires, plugs, cap and rotor, started the car and got that pesky miss fire and 2500 rpm. Went back down and worked on the timing belt by way of the timing belt tensioner and did check the timing allignment cams and crank shaft. Turns out the the miss did come from a miss alignment of the cam and crank shaft. We fixed the problem after 2.5 hours of work , the car now runs great again. No more engine light or traction control light blinking.

Thanks alot guys it was a timing miss.

  3. I am in central California, we do have a additive in most fuel MTBE which is known to be cancer causing agent. I drive a 1995 LS400 and get 26.5 on the freeway and 19-20 in the city.

I agree, some of you guys must have a very heavy foot.

  4. Does anyone have access to a service manual and can look up this DX code error PO336 (crankshaft position sensor)? and what the fix would be????

The traction control light just pulses continually without a pause?

The car runs good, drove it this morning up to 90mph with the rpm under 2,800 without a miss. any thing above that I get a miss..

  5. Thanks tleader, that is exactly the information I was lookng for. The only other information I need now is which scanner to buy, I am not looking for a

3,000.00 professional shop scanner, just a simple handheld scanner that will do the job. Does anybody have any suggestions? I noticed ebay has 125.00 for a equus scanner, I also noticed on 50.00 scanner ?????

I was looking for any kind of recommendation for purchasing a hand held scanner. I know that autozone has one for 155.00. Just wanted know what luck you have had?

Also took the care out last night for dive. I started and ran flawlessly right up to the point of 3000 rpm and then I got a miss fire style of hesitation. If the timing belt was out the engine would run consistantly rough.

Is it possible I could get a copy of this list of DX Codes from you??

I have a question for you. My ls400 just started running rough last week ever since My buddy changed the timing belt, we are extreemly sure the timing marks and the belt all ligned up even after the crank pulley went back on. the engine misses at 2800 rpm and above. My buddy says that the miss feel like a distributer/ignition miss. Like we disturbed something in the dist/rotor/plugwires etc. The check engine light is on and the traction control light is blinking constantly.

    Do you have any suggestions??

  8. When we put it back together, crank pulley/bolted in we checked the timing marks again and everything lined up perfectly, my buddy has done hundreds of timing belts and everything fell back into place. My friend said that there is a very high possibility we may have disturbed some loose particles with in the distributer/rotors/ or plug wires. I have never changed any of these things and the car has 135,000 miles.

  9. Hi, my buddy and myself just changed the timing belt and tensioner pulley's on my LS400 1995. The care was working great but now since putting it back together the check engine light is on and the traction control light blinks. In addition the car as a ignition miss like a bad plug wire at 2000 rpm. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
