  1. This is it guys... I've really enjoyed trading tips and advice with you over the past year or so. But due to financial reasons, I have to get rid of the GS. I'm real broken up about it, too. If things pick up, I'll be back on here with a 2006 GS in a heartbeat. You can count on that. Lexus is king of the car world right now, as far as I'm concerned, and my money will go nowhere else (if I had money  )

    Cheers guys. I'm out.

  2. I have a '93 and it has real cupholders that slide out of the center armrest. I remember going to my Lexus dealership and sitting in a 2003 GS300 Sportdesign and thinking "where the hell are the cupholders?!" I did see the shallow void you're speaking of and I couldn't believe those were the cupholders... I guess they are.

  3. When I had a BMW I was reading up on the transmissions. Apparently when it senses something is wrong it goes into 3rd gear so you can get to where you need to go to have it fixed. Seeing as the GS has a 5-speed automatic instead of a 4, it's reasonable to assume that it's programmed to go into 4th. In short, get it checked out. It may never happen to you again, but then again, it might.

    Good luck.

  4. Myself and a bunch of others answered a question like this a few weeks ago. Try looking back for it.

Anyway, my take on it was a hair dryer and then lighter fluid/"goo gone" for whatever residue is left. I don't think there were many other opinions on it, but like I say, check the old thread.

    Good luck.

  5. That's weird that it's only the inseam... It sounds like a case of waaaay too much negative camber all around, to me. If the guy lowered it improperly then that is your problem. You're looking at retooling the suspension to get proper traction and tire wear.

For an extreme example of this phenomenon check out the cartoon (The Adventures of Riceboy) on riceboypage.com . An educational site that teaches us not to cut our springs, especially not with a blowtorch because that's just extra dumb.

If that's not your problem, well then I have no idea. Good luck.
