What’s up, ok so I purchase a 1999 GS 400 w/ 46k on it. Did a carfax everything checked out. I’ve had the car for a week now, love the car …..gets the looks, has the power, and all the comfort I need. BUT…
I go out to the car yesterday and get in start her up, let the temperature get warm and I go to work. Get to work and turn the key off and notice the car is still on. WTF! So I put the key back in and try it again. WTF! Car wont turn off. First thing I though was damn did I get a bad car? So I call the lexus dealership ( I was just out there Sat. for a headlight $425 w/ labor for a bulb, WTF!!) tell them what its doing and they say bring it in. In the back of my mind I’m thinking, good thing I got the extended warranty. So I pull in the bay at the dealer, turn the key and it cuts off…… I start it back up and off about 4 or 5 times. It works fine. I wait for about 30min and tell the service manager to come out so I can show him what’s it doing. Doesn’t do it….? WTF!!
So he says wait till it does it again because it’s going to be on my dollar to find out whats wrong with it and its not doing it now. Today, I get it the car turns on, I get to work and it does the same thing!!!! Well in trying a few things I found that if I turn the key when the car is on so that the car grinds it cuts off. I did some research and find this forum. I did a quick search but nothing. Has anyone had this problem? Help?
