What is the ERR message? ← it just gives ERR and nothing else, no numbers or anything. none of the cds are stuck in the changer

every time i put a cd into my cd changer, it acts like it's reading, the the cd number starts blinking and then an err message shows on the display. can some one pls give me and insight. and does any body know what after market cd changer will work for this model car. i have a 96 es 300. i want it to connect to the factory radio wires.
