  1. So I call no one any names, but simply state my opinion about the whole "giant wheel" syndrome, and I'm called a "hater" with a "big mouth and no money", and nothing is said to that person, but I'm suspended? Makes perfect sense to me
  2. Apparently you have "big money", which is why you got the 300 instead of the 430? Either way, the amount of money in a person's wallet has nothing to do with their taste or maturity, or the need to prove their manhood with over-sized wheels
  3. Thanks for provong my point :D Isn't "Hater" supposed to = jealous. Your ridiculously impractical wheels that ruin the Lexus' "road experience" are supposed to make you into the "man" that everyone envy's and wants to be, right? Dream on :P I see guys all the time blowing wads of cash on throw-away items like giant wheels (usually chrome) that are supposed to compensate for something they apparently lack. Either that or they're starved for attention Look at me! Love me...want me! It's just a variable on the kids that go out of their way to wear outrageous clothes, hairstyles, etc., that they think will make them the center of attention. I guess they do give us something to laugh at ;)
  4. Ghetto is spending ridiculous amounts of money modding a base model car with such things as completely impractical giant wheels meant purely for "flash". Giant wheels are the new phallic symbol. In other words, I'm more of a "man" because I have bigger wheels than you. And denial is NOT a river in Egypt
  5. Which XM receiver where you using a cassette adapter with? The Roady has an adjustable output level. Also, you could "create" a line-level input into our factory radio by wiring directly to the tape player circuitry as described here if you have the knowledge to adapt it to our radio. Here are pics!
  6. I bought an $90 P.I.E. adapter for my '04 Sequoia that turned the CD changer input of the factory radio into a direct line input for audio devices like a Roady. A direct comparison of the expensive PIE adapter vs. the cassette adapter showed NO difference in audio quality (I consider myself an audiofile). I returned the expensive adapter :) As stated before, the Roady via cassette adapter has a SLIGHT reduction in high frequency repsonse compared to the Lexus OEM unit in my GS300. Definitly not enough of a difference to warrant the much more expensive price and VERY POOR user interface of the OEM unit :(
  7. My Verizon phone won't transfer the phonebook to my car. I picked up a Sony phone from Cingular. I created a lengthy phonebook with all the numbers I can forsee I would ever need. I transferred the phonebook to my '06GS300 via bluetooth and I then returned the phone within 3 days and got a 100% refund. I now use my Verizon phone in the car via bluetooth using the Sony-created phonebook :P
  8. I'm guessing he did the fm modulator <_< ← I'm using the cassette adapter. The Roady is just sitting in the ashtray hole as I haven't gotten around to making a mount for it.
  9. Installation is VERY easy.... just time consuming with pulling out most of the inner trunk trim. I got an XM kit from lexus-parts(dot)com for $300/shipped. I didn't keep it though because I HATED the interface. My $50 Roady shows more characters (letter/numbers) and I can glance at my Roady and see at once: preset buttons, channel by number AND name AND the artist or song. With the Lexus interface, the preset buttons take up most of the screen and you can't see the artist/song while also looking at the preset buttons. You have to press TEXT, but then you can't see you're presets anymore :cries: It also takes a couple seconds for the song info and channel name to pop up on the Lexus. With the Roady they are shown INSTANTLY! It makes it really easy to scan the channels :D The only pluses the Lexus unit has over the Roady is ever-so-slightly better high frequency sound and it's a cleaner/stealthy install.
