What about a new tranny, how much would it cost me, maybe if I pay someone to do it?

Hi, I am still searching for a manual IS 300 on the net, but I realized that there are more automatic for sells and so it's easier to get a good price for it. So I was wondering if it was easy to changer from an automatic transmission to a standart one and how much would it cost approximatly if I do it by my self. That was my first question, but I also have another one, cause by switching to a new transmission, I could change the engine in same time, but I don't know toyota/lexus engines alot. Is there better engine for the lexus is300 with an easy(kind of bolt to bolt) fit and keeping in mind that I would like to supercharge or maybe turbocharge it? Thx for all the help.

I don't think I'll get a good deal in Canada, because they are pretty rare and I don't want any rust :P. But I sure will do a test drive. By the way, why do you call it a 330? Why not 300? Is it another engine inside or a special edition?

Hi, I'm planning to buy an IS300 soon, but I'm not sure about something. I have heard that with the automatic transmission you can shift with buttons on the steering wheel, but I wasn't sure. Is it true and do you have a full control of the car transmission and shift at any RPM you want, can you also down shift? Because, I like manual transmission, but I never tried a semi-automatic and I think I would greatly appreciate it. Thx for the help to make my decision!

Hi, I currently have a modified mazda and by modifying this car I realized mazda was'nt enough good for my plans. I also had a car that I was looking for since many years, the lexus IS300. But something I learn by modifying my current car is that some cars are not made to be modifyed or to be to much modifyed or tuned. So before buying that car, I would like to know for Lexus owners first, is the IS300 the best to modify or the newest version (ES) are better? Also, I would like to know for the IS300, what would be the best possible engine planning that I would had a turbo on it. Also, what is the psi that the stock engine can handle and what is recommanded. I would also like to know the best shop about performance for Lexus IS300 website. I think that's all for now. :) I really love the look of that car, I hope it meats what I'm looking for about performance. If anyone can help me about that, I would really appreciate.
