Did they give you a new key with the ECU? or did they reprogram the old key? It may be the key. ← thanks for that, actually not sure if they did but i have tried both of my keys on the original ecu, so dont think its the keys.

Hi hope someone out there can help me.I have a 98 gs300 if u turn the ignition key it starts 1st time, runs for 6 seconds then dies. Checked the gas halve a tank so no probs there. Connected a new battery, made no difference. Left key in ignition for 6 minutes to try and re- initiate it, now tried this at every position on ignition. When the key is left in ignition for more than 1minute car rejects the key and wont allow it to start.Take the key out put it back in car starts immediately but then dies after 6 seconds. Checked the idle, thats fine, checked the fuel lines no can find problem. I gave up and gave the car to lexus, they tried all of the above and the immobiliser yet couldnt find the fault. They decided it must be the ecu so changed that and guess what? that didnt help. Lexus seem to be stumped. Can anyone out there help please, I seem to have the only lexus in the world that has had this problem and this means i cant use her and i dont have another car. HELP
