  1. The suspect would be the idler tensioner or the water pump itself since it too is driven by the timing belt. Maybe the bearing failed and is allowing wobble on the drive roller, causing the belt to walk. At this point the Water pump, tensioner, and cam shaft pulleys are are suspect until you determine which one or ones are bad. By the way did Lexus do this work? ← At lexus Now. we changed the water pump, don't know if they did the pulleys' and tensioner. Thanks
  2. Wife has a 1999 rx 300. Recently the timing belt came off. It didn't break but somehow came off. We had it replaced and 10 miles later it was shredded mess. the mechanic is now saying that the problem with the belt is that it's not lining up and rubbing on the back shield causing it to shred. He also says the hydrualic tensioner is bad. Has anyone had any odd problems with their timing belts?
  3. I have a 2000 rx 300 and wondering if anyone has a cheap fast solution to integrate an ipod into the Stereo? or does anyone have the schematics for removing Head unit and what connections might be available to plug into. Has Anyone done this without buying the $200 dollar kits they sell. It seems pretty simple there must be a way to incorporate RCA plugs into the Factory unit. Ideas? solutions?
