What is the best brand (and where do you find them) of hood struts to replace the worn out ones on my '94 LS400? Is this an easy repair? Thanks, Glenn

I justed purchased my first Lexus, a 1994 LS400, and enjoy this site. The driver seat has a tear on the face from entering the car after 125,000 miles. In the others I looked at before purchasing this one, it seems to be a common problem. What is the best way to repair this? I've seen full front seat covers on eBay for around $500. Is this a good price? Are they hard to install? Thanks.
